Green Street Parklet
About the Business
Welcome to Green Street Parklet, a vibrant urban oasis located at 3 Green Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02130. Since its inception in February 2019, this innovative parklet has been transforming the intersection of Green and Centre Street into a lively community hub. Designed to encourage pedestrian and bicycle traffic, Green Street Parklet serves as a delightful public space that is free and open to everyone.
Nestled within the heart of the city, this seasonal parklet is part of the Tactical Realms initiative, a collaborative effort between JP Centre/South Main Streets, A Better City, and the City of Boston, generously supported by a Barr Foundation grant. The creative design by Merritt Chase – Landscape Architecture / Urban Design – offers an inviting atmosphere with chairs, tables, benches, and niches for plants and decorations.
Our parklet is more than just a place to relax; it's a community endeavor. Special thanks to Volunteer of the Year, Patti McKenna, for her beautiful donation of pumpkins and flowers that add a touch of nature to our urban setting. Additionally, the Blue Frog Bakery has partnered with us to ensure the parklet remains a welcoming space every day.
JP Centre/South Main Streets is committed to activating this less-traveled corridor by offering engaging programming that draws pedestrians to the Green Street area. As part of A Better City, a collective of business leaders dedicated to enhancing Boston's economic health and vibrancy, we are proud to contribute to the sustainability and quality of life in our region.
Join us at Green Street Parklet to relax, connect, and enjoy the vibrancy of Boston’s community spirit. Open until the cold months arrive, the parklet will be packed and stored by the city, only to return with the warmth of Spring. Come and experience this unique blend of urban design and community engagement today!

Reviews
"I love this little park. It’s a welcoming spot for people to sit and enjoy the weather, or have a meal while social distancing. It’s a great communal way to repurpose space usually reserved for cars."
