Reviews
"Nice walk, would be nice if park staff would get out of their trucks and clean up garbage, tents and furniture left by homeless. Especially bad on trail that goes to back pond between J Pond and Leverett ponds."
"The Emerald Necklace was an excellent idea. It was not fully completed but the parks that did manifest make for a lot already. When you feel like walking through parks for several hours you could walk through all the parks end-to-end. An occasional problem in the Jamaica Pond portion of the Necklace is high concentration of bird droppings that need to be navigated around."
"Peaceful and relaxing!"
"Very good public resource. A must do if in Boston, and great to visit daily if you live here. Some trash on the ground here and there."
"This bird watching hotspot is hitting its seasonal stride right about now. Wood ducks have made a home here in recent years. Many of the ponds don't freeze completely, open ends near moving water draws scores of water fowl in winter. There's a remarkable amount of mushrooms to be found here, some edible some not. Caution is always advised. Interesting flora abound, one notable bloom is bloodroot. It's not easy to find and has a super fast bloom cycle that usually begins around opening day at Fenway or near the running of the Boston Marathon."
