"I was at Lowe’s Milford last week when one of the employees was trying to buy some shovels. Tried to get the business discount by just dropping the name of the company. ( initial thought was Joe Schmoe angling for any discount, clerk thought so also ) The clerk asked for a phone number to verify the business account and he was given a hard time. The person didn’t seem to know the company phone number And kept asking why can’t he just look it up by the name. He kept saying loudly company name and saying he’s never had any problems before doing this many times and the second clerk said it would be much easier with a phone number to search and the second clerk was given grief. When asked for an ID he continue to give a hard time, then opened his wallet and flashed a badge of some sorts. No red was showing so assuming enforcement of some sort. As someone who also carries a badge this is not acceptable And embarrassing. When clerk was able to locate and confirm business account through another way the customer did not even say thank you. All he had to do was provide a phone number and it would have much easier, instead he held up two different lines and clerks for several minutes. Then upon leaving I did observe the man in the company truck ( I was surprised he was working for them ) which then proceeded to take a shortcut and drive across 3 double rows of the painted parking spaces weaving around cars and carts. The aisle end to go to the road wasn’t too far away but obviously this person didn’t give a care. If this is who they hire, I wouldn’t even let them on my property. You should represent your business in a good light. Especially when you keep dropping the name loudly and then drive around in a truck with the name on the side."
