"I made a last minute reservation. I requested a car that had Apple CarPlay. The lady was very helpful and changed the car to one that had that, the process super quick and we got a nice Mazda CX5. Return was also quick and efficient. Price was similar to other rental companies at Boston Logan Airport."
"I recently had - and am continuing to have - an awful experience with SIXT that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Due to severe flash floods in Morgan, VT, which was declared a FEMA federal disaster zone, my rental car became trapped when the only road to the house was washed out. While the car was undamaged, it was impossible to return it to the Boston branch on the return date as planned. We had no idea how long it would take for the roads in the area to be repaired. I immediately contacted SIXT customer service and made numerous calls (July 30, 31, August 1, 2, 5, and 7) to explain the situation. Each time, I was met with a lack of support, empty promises of callbacks, and no actual help. Eventually, I was able to arrange with the Springfield, MA branch to return the car there once the road was repaired on August 7. Despite all this, SIXT’s system failed to reflect that the car had been returned, and I received threatening FedEx letters accusing me of larceny! On top of that, SIXT charged me over $1,000 in fees for the late return. I understand there may be some additional fees due to the unexpected situation, but this amount is exorbitant. I am still trying to communicate with SIXT to resolve this issue, but their lack of responsiveness has made it nearly impossible. The way SIXT mishandled a situation caused by a federally recognized natural disaster is absolutely unacceptable. If you're looking for a rental company that will help you in an emergency, keep looking. SIXT has proven to me that they don’t care about their customers, and I will never use their services again."
"Will not use this company again. We were late in picking up the vehicle due to our flight being delayed by weather, I tried calling once we landed but never received an answer, we rushed over to the rental location and there was no one there, there was a huge line of people waiting for service. After 10-15 minutes of waiting someone finally showed up. The only reason I’m giving an extra star is because the guy at the counter offered us a Jeep instead of a Rav 4, as well as the process to rent online and just pickup was super easy. Other than that there was no other reason to rate any higher. Once we were done with our rental we returned the vehicle it tip top shape we cleaned, vacuumed, got a car wash. When we returned the vehicle the guy checked off and said it looked great! Then we went on our marry way. Three days later received an invoice for $860 extra on top of what we had already paid ($720). They tried to say we smoked in the car (NEVER SMOKED IN OUR LIVES) and the car was filthy, and a bunch of other hidden fees..after a week of absolutely freaking out on their customer service team I was finally able to get a refund of the smoking fee and got half of the cleaning fee refunded.. I will never go through this company again."
"Poorest customer service and overall experience I have ever had at a rental car company. First, they give me a car that looked like it was in an accident and with water damage in the sunroof. I took pictures and noted the damage before I left. As soon as we leave, the moon roof starts shaking and making a huge racket. So I immediately returned it and got a new vehicle. Then, at some point during this ordeal, I left my drivers license either in the car or with the person at the counter. I tried to contact them via phone, via email, and submitted a lost and found ticket. That was 10 days ago and I still haven’t heard from them. Then 3 days ago I decided to go to the physical location to see if they have it. They didn’t know if they have it because they have a policy to put it in their safe. The manager is the only person who can open the safe and that person left for the day. So, I gave them my info so the manager could contact me, since they don’t have a direct line and emails don’t get answered apparently. I was assured that they would contact me the next day. Still waiting for someone to actually help me track down my driver’s license before my return flight home."
