"Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Do not rent or return a vehicle to this destination. Returned a rental truck to the property and was immediately met with hostility from the Owner/manager. I was threatened for attempting to pull my car into the lot so we could unload the trash remaining in the vehicle from our move. When I explained the situation I was told to park on the sidewalk and drag the trash from the truck across the parking lot to my car. Finally, the Owner/manager told us that the hand truck in the truck needed to be brought into the office because that "wasn't his job" without us even commenting on it. Terrible all around."
"Never dealt with worse customer service. The owner threatened to not rent me a car when I asked a question about whether my auto insurance would cover the rental. Proceeded to aggressively talk down to other customers and ignored me for 20 min because “I didn’t know what I was doing”. Due to his antics he rented the last car I had reserved and I ended up being coerced into paying for the Budget insurance since my auto insurance wouldn’t cover the larger vehicle & I needed the rental. Then when checking the rental, I realized he had left the ring of car keys for the whole lot of cars out in the open for the general public to grab. To his surprise, I returned him the key ring and was treated well after helping him in his mistake. Funny how he changed his entire demeanor afterwards. Never rent from this location."
"I rented a 12" box truck from the Allston, Mass rental office on Sunday, June 23rd at 9am. Negligent behavior When I got inside the rental truck, I saw that the check engine light was yellow and the tire monitoring (!) light was also yellow (I took a photo). I took the keys back into the office and told the representative and he said "the truck is fine, you don't need to worry about it, we check everything". I drove away and when I stopped for gas, I saw that the left rear tire looked low. When I got to my final destination, I took the truck to a gas station and found out that the tire pressure was 25 PSI, when it should have been 80 PSI. After filling the tire, we headed out for our final leg of our trip, with my daughter in the car, we found the tire was again low, called roadside assistance (which was great, by the way) and they said the tire pressure was 5 PSI. They replaced the tire for us. I believe this put my family in danger, and am very surprised to see a representative essentially blow us off after I told him about the warning lights. Rude behavior When I arrived 5 minutes early, the person at the front desk told me to "go back out and wait another five minutes, can't you see that there are other people waiting in line?". I didn't realize the other people were waiting in line, I had assumed they were waiting to have their cars driven up for pickup. Poor service I also observed the person in front of me getting a car, drive away, and come back 15 minutes later saying "is this a fully electric car?" He was told "yes, that was all that we had" The customer was obviously very upset that he wasn't told about this, and it sounded like he had a long trip ahead of him, where an electric car wouldn't be ideal. He left the office with no resolution Additionally, I was told that I had to get the commercial insurance for the truck and "if I would have read the customer agreement, which nobody does, I would have seen that the requirements to waive coverage were" this and that Update 7-17-24: Looking at my credit card statement, I see that we were charged an extra day after returning the vehicle ($241.16) . Fortunately, the corporate office credited this back when I called. I originally called the drop off location (phone number on the dot matrix-printed reservation) but they couldn't see the transaction, noting that it had to have been initiated by the pick up location. I am not sure how the processing works, but it seems odd that the pickup location would initiate a transaction for an "extra day", since they wouldn't know when the drop off occurred. I did submit a formal complaint about all of this to the corporate office and was provided an acknowledgement and case number, with a promise to let me know how the issues above will be resolved, but I haven't heard anything yet (it's been 3 weeks since drop off)"
"My friend rented a truck for moving. On Saturday 6/29 in morning, we picked up the truck. Late we found there are might be issue with charge on credit card. So We went back to talk with staff to see if we can get it resolved before we leave Boston as this is one way rental. As soon as my car entering the lot, someone run out and told me not to park here. I told him we have an issue to resolve and it should take only a few minutes. He still refuses to let my car parking inside so I said "Let me me turn around and drive out'. The guy then said, "No, you have to back up!". What? It is a busy commercial street with heavy traffic and my view is blocked by cars parked along the street. It's dangerous to back up into busy traffic. The space inside is big enough for my car to turn around. So I asked him, "Why I can't turn around?". He replied, "It's my place!". I have no choice but to back up as the king ordered. What a little dictator! He really enjoys that little power he has."
