"Great customer service! I was visiting some friends recently and it was getting very frustrating driving around in two cars because we couldn't all fit into one. We rented a van from Adventure Vehicle and we were all so happy we did! It was very spacious and ran wonderfully! The price was not bad at all! I would definitely rent from them again if needed! "We rented a van from Adventure Car and Van Rental the last weekend of April 2016 and had a HORRIBLE customer service experience. I would offer this piece of solid advice: DO NOT RENT FROM ADVENTURE CAR AND VAN RENTAL. EVER. We took great care in maintaining their vehicle while we had it and vacuumed it and cleaned it before returning it. We returned the van to them in pristine condition. Everything seemed great and we were excited to use their services again... UNTIL... ONE FULL WEEK after returning the van we received an invoice with an additional charge of $293.20 under the line item "Windshield". No phone call ... No explanation. We called right away and the customer service rep said that the van had been returned with a damaged windshield and promised to send us photos of the damage. The photos never came. We actually do, however, have a photo of the van from the morning we returned it and the windshield was clearly intact with no damage. But no one wants to see our photo. :( There were 13 people in that van over the weekend and 4 people in the van when we returned it to Rhode Island. All of these people can attest to the fact that the windshield was intact and had zero damage. Pat, the manager from Adventure Car and Van Rental claims the damage was in the black area of the windshield and that we wouldn't have been able to see it. He backpedaled when we told him that we were promised photos of the damage, stating that the windshield had already been sent for repair when that claim was made. There are several negatives to consider here: 1) There was no one at the lot to check over the van for damage when we dropped it off at their Warwick, RI location. This is an unsupervised lot. So basically it's our word against theirs. From a customer service perspective I would think that a respectable business would give the customer the benefit of the doubt. The $293 would have certainly been made up to them by our future rentals. They definitely lost what could have been a repeat customer. 2) We were not notified of any damage to the vehicle until receiving an invoice for the rental a full seven days after we returned the van. Anyone could have driven that van in-between the time we dropped it off and the time they notified us of the damage. But since we were the last people to officially rent the van ... It's our fault in accordance with the rental agreement. 3) An employee of Adventure Car and Van Rental promised us photos of the damage that never came and then they backpedaled saying the van was already out for repair by the time that promise was made to us. 4) Pat (the manager) seemed to think it was funny that Adventure Car and Van Rental is the only place in the New England area that has these types of vehicles for rent. He was very proud of the fact that they have a monopoly on this type of rental stated, "You're not going to find another van like this to rent anywhere else, are you?" He was just plain rude. We are honest people with a photo to prove that the damage to the vehicle did not occur while the van was in our possession. The people at Adventure Car and Van Rental made us feel like we were trying to be dishonest and it was really upsetting because that's just not who we are. They made us feel dumb that we didn't notice the damage and it was very upsetting how cold and impersonal they were. I just wouldn't rent from them. They are only interested in money and getting innocent people like us to pay for damage to their fleet. Pat told us he's going to take us to court to get the $293.20 for the windshield. So now we have stress from his threats and apparently a court case to look forward to ... So we'll have to hire and attorney, take time off from work, drive back to Rhode Island ... It's just going to be a big hassle for damage to a van that wasn't our fault. It's a HOT MESS. Save yourself the time and aggravation and rent from somewhere else."
"We rented a Ford 8-passenger Transit in late August, 2015. WE were very pleased with the transaction and the price - there weren't any unpleasant surprises. The manager, Pat, was accommodating and was forthright. The lot and facility is a mess, but that didn't matter to us - the workers were friendly and the price was right. Paul"
"I have recently had the opportunity to rent for the first time a 15-passenger van through this company and have to say it was a pleasant experience - from them delivering the van from Boston to Warwick, to opening the van remotely, etc. I spoke with Pat who answered my phone calls with pleasantry and understanding. Scott did the same. I would highly recommend this company if you are need of a van for a day or week when there are lot of people involved. The vehicle was clean when I picked up and I tried to keep it the same. Again, I would give my first time experience with this company a 9.9 as if I gave it a 10 there would be no room for improvement."
