"Stopped by around 2 PM on a beautiful afternoon, expecting a decent lunch. The place was nearly empty. After a brief wait at the host stand, a woman finally appeared and told me we could sit wherever we liked. The service, despite the server being friendly, was disappointing. She was slow, inattentive, and got several things wrong. We had items either messed up or forgotten, and despite there being hardly any other customers, we were left waiting far too long. To her credit, she mentioned she was kitchen staff not a server, but that didn’t really make up for the experience. The food didn’t improve things. I chose this place because they advertised smashburgers on the menu, but what I got was not a smashburger at all. It was for sure overpriced, and not much better than something you’d get at a casual cookout. The calamari had potential—it was crispy, fresh, and tasted great—but it came buried under a giant pile of tomatoes and olives. It was frustrating to dig through all that just to get to the calamari itself. To make matters worse, the whole time we were dealing with yellow jacket bees. They were constantly landing on our food, pestering our toddler, and even stinging some other guests. It really took away from the meal cause a bit of stress. Overall, it’s disappointing to see such a beautiful location go to waste. Between the poor service, mediocre food, and the bee problem, it’s hard to justify coming back."
"Great atmosphere. Live music on Tuesdays. Open late (12/1) amazing mudslides. Lots of options on menu"
"Went for dinner and sat outside. Really lovely outdoor bar and deck seating on the water, not much else like it in the area! Service was very friendly. They are dog friendly and we had a great time with our dog there, they brought him over a big bowl of ice water. The lawn area has some lawn games and picnic tables I will be recommending to my friends with kids. The shrimp appetizer was delicious. The inside looks cool as well with a massive tv for sports. We will definitely be back!"
"This is my first visit to Captains and certainly not my last. It’s a small, cozy restaurant that has seating inside and outside on the deck as well. I went to Captains with some friends and family, about 8 or 9 of us. We ordered and shared so many delicious appetizers and drinks. When you decide to visit Captains, you absolutely must try their Brisket Egg Rolls! (Delicious brisket added inside the egg rolls) You haven’t had Anything like them. That will certainly be my go-to appetizer. We also had the brisket nachos! If you think you’ve had good nachos in your life… You won’t believe how tasty the Brisket Nachos are. Calamari. I have had rubbery, chewy, tough Calamari at so many restaurants, and I continue to order it when it’s available… at Captains, the calamari was perfect; Tender, delicious rings of delight! Another appetizer that I will enjoy when I return. And their Fish n Chips! Now, honestly I didn’t actually taste it but one in our group did, and said that it was cooked perfectly flaky, and moist. It looked so good. As the night progressed, so did our consumption of drinks. They have a large selection of your favorite drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. Chances are that you’ll find something you enjoy. The staff here are energetic and fun. They are very attentive to the patrons needs and I never waited longer than 1 or two minutes for anything I asked for. For all the food and drinks we had, and a wonderful night out… we spent about $40 per person. Now THATS what I call a great night out with friends and family."
