"So happy to have a cafe back in city hall! great food & coffee and lovely staff!"
"The staff here are so nice and friendly. I come for the coffee and stay for the kind atmosphere. The food options for snacks or lunch are great. So glad to have a new cafe in city hall!"
"There's a new cafe at City Hall! First, it's kinda hard to find. If you enter from the front entrance, go past the info booth and make a left into one of the exhibit room. You'll see a pic of Dianne Feinstein. Keep going straight and walk down the stairs. Make a right and go all the way down the hall. You'll see the entrance to the cafe to the left. I ordered a drip coffee and the breakfast sandwich (shakshuka). It was pretty good! It's an egg and cheese patty in a brioche bun. The bun was soft and fresh and the egg/cheese patty was yummy. When I think of a shakshuka, I think of eggs poached in a spicy tomato sauce. The description of the menu says there's salsa verde, but I didn't taste that. I added Tapatío, which is the acidity I was craving. I think a tomato or some sort of spicy tomato sauce would really elevate the sandwich. And maybe some fresh greens as well. Though, for $9, it was a good deal. It did come with oranges so that was nice. The drip coffee was good. I added some cinnamon, cream, and sugar which was delicious. The coffee is from Tallios. Service was great! We were greeted with big smiles. Today was their grand opening so I'm sure they were excited. We got our food to go, but there are tables across the cafe. It looks run down, so I hope City Hall spruces it up soon so that it's more inviting. The website says this cafe is a Bayview collective, featuring African and African-American restaurants from that neighborhood, like Radio Africa. I'm very excited to see another cafe at Civic Center, especially a place with African/African-American cuisine. I think it will bring more foot traffic in the area. I hope that City Hall has better signage in the future to support this cafe."
