"Place was awesome. Vibes immaculate. Meatballs? Meh. 4 for 16. Each meatball is 4 dollars which seems kind of steep. Pizza? The only fresh thing here. Salami portions were incredibly small. Potato on the pizza was nice. Pasta did not taste good and was very oily, but I liked the ground lamb, not bad at all. Now let’s go to dessert. We got the confections which was the stalest item here. Terrible, almost wanted to get our money back for that item. It’s also extremely pricey (not worth it) if you didn’t notice that from the menu yet. Spent almost 150 for the above. Now let’s go on to service. Everyone was chilling until the waiter who looked like a poor imitation of John Travolta from Pulp Fiction (bad ponytail, when you see him you can immediately tell who I’m talking about) was extremely rude to my partner throughout the meal (she asked for the dessert menu and he addressed me instead the whole night when she was talking, not sure if he was just being sexist or ignorant or both). He also insisted I didn’t sign the merchant copy like I’m a bum who doesn’t want to pay for dinner, we laughed at how idiotic his insinuation was and still for some reason left a tip. Saw this place was rated poorly on Yelp and after visiting definitely makes sense. Saw they also have a location in Tokyo, feel bad for the poor people who waste a meal on this place. A16, you’re definitely… something, but not a place for people who enjoy good food and pleasant dinner."
"I found this place on the Michelin guide website for San Francisco. I love pizza, so it was a no brainer to give this a try. I reserved a seat at the counter and could see the oven - pretty cool. As for the food, the pizza was good - the crust and cheese were great, but I feel like the sauce was a bit watery. Admittedly,I enjoy a thicker pizza sauce, but the price was good - I'm not complaining. Overall a good experience."
"Went to A16 for lunch today and it was top tier. Our waiter was super cool and helpful. We ordered the Heirloom tomato caprese salad and the mushroom pizza. Completely blown away by the pizza! The combo of the cheese, mushrooms, crust and olive oil really elevated the experience. Definitely understand why they got a Michelin star for the pizza alone. I will for sure head back soon."
"Third visit and first time meeting the owner. What she doesn’t know about Southern Italian wine is probably not worth knowing. Very unassuming and warm lady - which matches the unpretentious restaurant. Sure, I’ve had some better Italian dishes, but it has the whole package here - great food, wine, service and atmosphere. Pizzas were a standout, as was the Berkshire pork."
