"It was surreal how rude the cashier was. She talked on the phone while taking my order. I got distracted and gave her the wrong answer about if I wanted my sandwich to go or not, and she scolded me for it. She sounded irritated the entire time and was very impersonal. The pastries are usually good, but food is only passable. I had a heart burn for the rest of the day after eating the chicken au jus sandwich and half a chocolate croissant. It's a sign of low quality ingredients. I will not be back again. It's not worth the experience."
"There are two main workers I’ve seen here. The guy, nice, cheerful, with a great air of hospitality about him. 5 stars. Unfortunately, the lady that works the counter can make the experience miserable. I’m not saying she has to smile, just don’t be so outwardly hostile. I wish I could say this is a one time thing. But no, I come back for the croissants and cinnamon buns every now and again, but after this last experience that will be my last visit to Le Marais. I simply asked to have my cinnamon bun heated. And what blows my mind about it is she went through the trouble of putting it in the oven, making me wait, and then handing it to me without actually heating it. Imagine my surprise as I go to grab my paid-for-cinnamon bun from her hand and she’s giving me a look of disdain. I get my bun and notice it has not been heated. I take the hint and grab my paid for cinnamon bun and walk out the store. Jokes on me I suppose. I even tipped."
"The Interior design is better than the typical Parisian bakery. But, there was no functioning microwave, the cashier had me wait 20 mins to deliver room temperature foods such as a croissant and quiche. The hot chocolate at Starbucks is better than what they gave me"
"An exceptional croissant, flaky crisp and buttery without losing texture or leaving a buttery mouth feel. Good coffee too."
"Yummy! My first time here and I’m rather pleased. I asked for a Ham and Cheese Croissant and a Spring Iced Tea (I think). Half eaten in the photo (I’m so sorry). Both very good. Also they let me bring my dog inside. She is small / medium and very well behaved. I’m always thankful when I feel that she is welcomed where ever I bring her. Nice place. I will be back and tell a friend or two about this place. Thank you."
