The River Restaurant & Lounge

"Not a good visit. We fell into the tourist trap, much like everyone else and left very disappointed. I ordered the shrimp stirfry which came with microwave rice & frozen vegetables. Not worth the $20+ it’s priced at! My husband had the ribs and said they were nice but the lack of care during the service was evident. $6 for 3 extra shrimp was also a rip off! We had to wait for a table in the ‘lounge’ (most definitely not a lounge) and took our drinks through with us. We were told 20 minutes for our table, it was closer to 40. I get they were busy but it felt quite chaotic, staff were running round, quickly taking orders but not giving any care/attention to customers. No one followed up whilst we were eating to check if the food was okay. We would’ve complained but we were so hungry after a 5 hour drive, we just wanted to eat and get out of there. It’s a shame as it’s a really nice spot but the food and service are really sub-par. The pizza next door was much better but still overpriced! It’s the same ‘chap’ that owns the accommodation, restaurant & pizza place. Quantity over quality seems to be his motto and the whole setup screams ‘motel’ rather than beautiful location next to the river."

"The price is too high for low quality. I ordered a salad for $20 and as an add-on a portion of shrimp, which was charged for an additional $6. Exactly three pieces were served... The staff reacted evasively to my question. I cannot recommend a visit."

"We drove for 3 hrs to have dinner and coffee by this amazingly beautiful roaring river, and it was worth it. The food was fairly good they serve simple American Italian food, but the ambiance is spectacular. Yosemite View Lodge was almost full. Yosemite is beautiful this time of the year, specially after the heavy rain we had in Spring. I didn't take picture of the food but found the it online :)"

"We had a great experience. Food was delicious and tasted like much needed homemade food . Very tasty fish which was a trout, tuna appetizer and ginger chicken . We enjoyed our dinner and had a great time chatting with a friend. For desserts we ordered apple tart with vanilla ice cream VERY delicious and my friend ordered New York cheesecake which was great too."
