"I liked the music. The message of the service was positive but somewhat disjointed and also very emotive. This is part of the schtick. Everyone got in a circle and held hands at the end. I felt pressured to join in. I thought it was weird. I think it’s fine to hold hands in public but it’s weird to ask everyone to do it upon demand. They said you didn’t have to join in but how much of a square/standout would I be if I was the only person in the entire congregation not to? I didn’t bring a donation and was chastised for “next time”. Some members of the congregation thoughtfully prepared some snacks. One of the organizers made a weird joke about me flirting with his wife, which was news to me. Those who prescribe to the dogma established by the council of Nicaea will find this church heretical. I don’t personally care about that, but the vibe was off. I’ve heard the location in San Diego itself is better, could be worth checking out."
