"I was looking for Large Print books and they had a nice collection of them. Just needed to update my old card. Very good service."
"A friend of mine was handling some professional business at city hall, so I decided to go to the adjacent library while she handled her affairs. So I sit down at the computers and pull out my LA County library card to log in, but it doesn't work! So I go ask the worker if my card is expired, but I tell her I just used it last month. She informs me that in order to use THEIR library, I need to fill out paperwork to get THEIR card! So even though, SFS is in the county of LA, I can't use an LA County Library card, apparently! But I tell her, "I need another library card, like I need a whole in my head --- I already have six (believe it or not)." But she says, "That's Policy!" Senseless! So then I explain that I am just passing time because of a friend conducting business, and could I just get a visitors temp number just to do some light reading. The answer was no! So I asked the young girl to send a supervisor over to speak with me. About 10 minutes later, Deborah shows up and I give her my spiel --- she says guest library computer usage is not the POLICY at this library. And that was that! So I just decided to leave! On my way out, I decided to go wash my hands (of the whole silly situation) in the bathroom. But the door is locked; so I go back to the girl who initially told me I needed a card to use the computer, and I asked her, "Do I need to have a library card to use the restroom, too?" She says no, but that I need a key --- and she points to it. Now I have been going in the men's restroom for over 50 years of my 60+ years on this earth, and I know that an overwhelming majority of men DO NOT wash their hands, and the last thing I want to do is touch a key that men use to do their business! I ask if she has a Kleenex or a paper towel; she says No. So I pull one out of my satchel, attain the key, use the facilities and I was out of their ---- NEVER TO COME BACK --- to "The People's Republic of Sante Fe Springs!" #YIKES #DESPICABLE #UNWELCOMING"
"I used too come here with my girlfriend now my wife. We used to use the typewriter back in the day lol! We love this library so much so many memories here.Wish we lived closer but we moved far away. Our memories will always remain here."
"Library is up to date, clean with great people. The Librarian is always so helpful, nice and welcoming. They have so many activities and events that go on. Some require registration, some don't. But every time the kids have loved attending Makes it a nice place to come study."
"This is a great library the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. I don’t think people take advantage of their library as much as they could. When was the last time you stopped in at your local branch if you have not done so your are missing some great things. They have all the current magazines and newspapers all the new bestsellers if you are buying them your wasting your money they’re free here. There are also so many videos new ones and old favorites. You could easily spend a day in there. They even have public computers. Check it out this is a great place to spend time it’s clean and modern the rest rooms are always spotless there is even a great coffee counter. It’s just really a nice place to spend time, try it I think you will like it."
