"I joined Rock Steady Boxing April 2023 and have been attending 3 times a week. I have seen tremendous increase in flexibility and strength. Because of my improved flexibility, I have become a much improved pickleball player. My Movement Disorder doctor at Cedar Sinai Hospital recommends Rock Steady Boxing and Pickleball to all his Parkinsons patience. I love participating in both exercises. Before boxing exercises, I used to have pain on my shoulder when I turned to my side while sleeping. Glad to say the pain went away for good. Bottom line, my Parkinsons has not advanced since I joined Rock Steady Boxing. All the coaches are fabulous. Without any hesitation, I highly recommend Rock Steady Boxing to all Parkinsons patients."
"I am visiting area and was welcomed with open arms. The coaches are super friendly and more important very knowledgeable on PD in all phases of the disease so they do their workouts that are beneficial to all participants no matter how advanced or newly diagnosed you are. BIG THING...you are having fun , having a laugh here and there during the whole workout. Highly recommend this chapter of rock steady."
"I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in August of 2020 and found that exercise, for me, is the most effective way of delaying the progression of the disease. At first, after my diagnosis, I tried developing my own exercise program, but struggled to maintain a consistent schedule and I was unconvinced it was helping my Parkinson’s symptoms. My son told me Rock Steady Boxing is an exercise program that targets Parkinson’s Disease and can slow the disease’s progression. I joined an RSB program near me in July 2021 and I haven’t looked back. Since then, I have seen improvements in my balance and my strength, two areas where I had been struggling. And Rock Steady Boxing is fun, both in terms of the exercises you do, especially the boxing, and the people you get to know. But the greatest asset to the Rock Steady Boxing program is the quality of the instructors. It is clear they put a great deal of thought into each class to maximize the benefits to the participants in delaying the progression of Parkinson’s Disease. Their knowledge of the use of exercise to delay the progression of Parkinson’s Disease is impressive. I highly recommend Rock Steady Boxing to anyone dealing with Parkinson’s Disease."
"Rock Steady Boxing is an amazing program to help fight the progression of Parkinson’s. My husband, Russell, was diagnosed over 8 years ago. Walking, balance and standing up straight are his biggest challenges . The boxing has helped him immensely to get out of his wheelchair, use a walker and gallantly stand to punch the bag and mitts of the amazing, encouraging coaches. In addition to boxing, he learned stretching exercises and lots of jokes from Yvette! There is a wonderful community atmosphere of boxers and caregivers cheering everyone on. Rock Steady is the best medicine to fight Parkinson’s Disease! They rock it! Lisa and Yvette and staff lead the way to a better life for all involved."
"I take Zoom classes for Parkinson’s from a group of coaches at Rock Steady Boxing, VC/LA. My neurologist sent me. They make one key promise which is that doing this boxing will delay Parkinson’s symptoms and improve overall health. After two years my symptoms have not progressed (hurray!). Just as valuable, my overall strength and flexibility have vastly improved. Finally, the environment during the classes makes using an hour or so of my time a “can’t miss” experience."
