Under the leadership of Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone, the LACoFD operates as one of the largest metropolitan emergency services agencies in the United States. With a team of over 5,000 emergency responders and professionals, we serve more than 4.1 million residents across 60 cities and numerous unincorporated areas.

Our department provides a wide range of services, including lifeguard, air and wildland, hazardous materials, homeland security, and urban search and rescue operations. Our specialized urban search and rescue team, USA-2, is recognized for its international response capabilities.
