About the Business
Welcome to Peace Park, a serene oasis in the heart of Long Beach, California. Located at 1411 Atlantic Avenue, Peace Park is a cherished community space dedicated on January 24, 2004, by Bonnie Lowenthal and the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine. This .40-acre park offers vital recreational space, contributing to the city's Open Space Plan goal of expanding green areas for residents.
Peace Park boasts a playground, walking paths, and lush lawn areas, making it an ideal spot for families and individuals seeking relaxation and recreation. With children's play equipment, shady benches, and vibrant green spaces, the park serves as a beacon of tranquility and community spirit.
The park's name, "Peace Park," was the winning entry of an essay contest held by Roosevelt Elementary School's third and fourth graders, with fourth-grader Le'Niesha Johnson's entry chosen by a distinguished panel of judges.
Previously a parking lot for an unused shopping center, the site was transformed into this beautiful park thanks to funding from the City's Mini Park fund and the Mayor's Mini-park Program. The Long Beach Redevelopment Agency generously provided the land, and the Conservation Corps of Long Beach assisted in its construction.
Peace Park is conveniently located near the Sea Mist Senior Housing project, offering a peaceful retreat for all ages. We invite you to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of Peace Park, a testament to community collaboration and a cherished addition to Long Beach's green spaces.

"Nice little place to take a quick break in the shade with or without the kids"
"I appreciate this park a lot. It's the only public grass park in the area. It is fenced in which is nice for kids and dogs. There are homeless on occasion, but they are pleasant and keep to themselves. It has lighting for an evening visit."
"2 stars only because it has potential. I needed a park close to St Mary’s to take my kids, while my mom visited my uncle at the hospital. There were only about 5 people here, (2 that looked like addicts, & the rest looked homeless). I didn’t really want to stay here, Bt again, it was the closest park. The kids jungle gym/slide is okay, Bt it needs to be updated & cleaned. The plastic (or paint) is pealing off & there is a lot of rust (potential risk of lead poisoning). These google pictures must be very old because this park looks nothing like what is shown."
"it’s fun for kids... but still we have a sit and having a lot of fun.. we spend there 2 hours.."
"It's little my baby's and dog was happy someone sleep in park it was clean not bad over all.and it was abt 7 p.m so yeah we go back need more playground material or stuff to play on."
