Community Engagement:
We invite the public to participate in shaping the future of the Downtown Shoreline area by taking part in our online survey, available in multiple languages until early September. This initiative is part of our commitment to exploring alternative futures for the Shoreline.
Housing Initiatives:
Join us at our three Housing Policy Forums to learn about and provide input on various housing policy and zoning initiatives. Our goal is to encourage and expand housing production in Long Beach.
Affordable Housing Projects:
We are proud to support projects like the 1400 Long Beach development, a 163-unit affordable housing project in the Midtown area. This six-story development will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, along with amenities such as a community room, an outdoor courtyard, and a children's play area.

Reviews
"Can I apply for a job here? It seems like they have no one there to answer the phones or maybe they are short staffed give me a email and I'll send my resume over"
"Highly incompetent group of people that are only there to ruin your day. They have zero idea how to help contractors finish their projects and add value to the city. It almost feels as if these people want your projects to fail."
"I called the Long Beach Planning Department. We are currently experiencing a heavy call volume... You are caller #1. Waited 20 minutes and left my number for them to call me back. I never got a call back. This is the third time Ive tried calling early morning for 3 days. Inexcusable. -1 Stars"
"The reviews seem accurate. You can wait on hold for an hour only to be hung up on or you can leave a message on someone’s voice mail and never get a call back. You can ask 3 people and get 4 different answers. Maybe if the code wasn’t so loosely written and the interpretations so arbitrary more would get done. Edit: I have been trying for over a week to get someone on the phone to answer my questions. I wait on hold about 10-20, either get a very nice or super rude woman on the phone who transfers me to somebody who is supposed to be “working” (probably off playing video games somewhere) and now I’ve left 4 messages for 4 different people, none of whom have bothered to call me back. Now, I’ll have to go down there to get a few simple questions answered which are NOT in the muni code or anywhere on their website!"
"There have been the same 15 people here for over 2 hours. The pick ticket system is completely random and there is no order to any process here. Same as one of the other experiences. More than 2 hours to pick up a permit that's ready. Bureaucracy at its finest."
