"Even though this place was built for the Academy awards Hollywood or what not but it built memories for me since we do our Convention Church wise..(Fuente de Agua Viva) it's a nice place that holds more then 150 people and parking. It's Great and we get to Worship!"

"Academy Theater was opened 1939 and designed by architect S. Charles Lee. Building was originally designed to house the Academy Awards. Academy Theater never did host the ‘Oscars’, but it was often the location of film premieres and served as a major suburban theater. S. Charles Lee is credited with designing over 400 theaters throughout California and Mexico. The Academy Theater continued to show movies until 1976, when it became a church."

Charles Lee he was an American architect recognized as one of the most prolific and distinguished motion picture theater designers on the West Coast. Lee is the principal designer of motion picture theaters in Los Angeles during the 1930s and 1940s. He is credited with designing over 400 theaters throughout California and Mexico. It is a great church as well as a great piece of architectural and Los Angeles history."
