"Doctor Yu changed my life. I now can sleep through the night and I wake up well rested. Thank you Dr. Yu!"
"Dr. Yu is the kind of physician I desire to have for all aspects of my well-being. Having a doctor who genuinely & deeply cares about the outcome of your health is what sets Dr. Yu apart. Regarding the waiting time, it may occasionally be longer, but it is because Dr. Yu dedicates the necessary time to address and resolve your sleep concerns effectively. I highly recommend Dr. Yu to anyone and everyone who desires help in their journey for better sleep & the better quality of life that comes from it."
"It was a little bit of a wait to see this doctor but so worth it. He really takes time with the patient. He is very Knowledgeable and explains everything. Dr Yu is very kind and caring. Very nice staff as well."
"I would not recommend Dr. George Yu at St John's Pleasant Valley hospital in Camarillo, CA. Dr Yu offered me a clinical trial of Regen-COV2 (on a phone conversation I did not initiate) since I had contracted COVID-19 with very mild symptoms. He seemed informed and shared his knowledge of the treatment, although he seemed to be reading information off a prepared statement. However, Dr Yu failed to explain to me that there could be out of pocket costs involved for the treatment, such as admin. costs, or charges for just talking to him over the phone. There was no mention about insurance or deductibles being met. This led me to believe the treatment and any other costs involved would be at no charge, like COVID vaccinations that are administerd at no charge. I believe it is imperative to provide a potential patient with an explanation of all costs involved with this treatment so that they can make an informed decision on whether or not it is for them, especially if they are only having mild symptoms. Dr Yu also stated that if I didn't get the treatment by the next day, I would no longer be a candidate for the treatment. This gave me no time to think it over or to consult with my primary care physician since it was after hours. Over a month after getting the treatment, I was sent a bill from Dr Yu's Office for the phone call. This was unexpected, so I called to find out why. I was given a different number to call for a billing dept. at St. Johns Pleasant Valley hospital in Camarillo. They told me that there were also administrative charges on top of the doctor's fee that together totaled almost $500. After having long conversations with Dr Yu and the billing dept., I was able to negotiate the total of the charges due to me down to zero. It took me several calls and weeks for the billing dept to finally send me a letter and statement showing a zero balance on my account. The statement appeared to be from an Excel spreadsheet, and and not an official statement. But it did not end there. Over a month later I received another billing statement from Dignity Health in Sugar Land, TX. with the same charges, but with no specific services listed. I called Dignity Health and explained to them the situation. They wanted me to FAX them the statements from my doctors office, and said to contact them in a week. For some reason they did not have the capability to receive this information as a PDF attachment to an email, and the only conveyance offered was by FAX or by the USPS. Is this so that it cannot be tracked and they can claim the information was never received, or is it that they don't want to be involved in 21st century technology? I faxed the letter and zero balance statement to Dignity Health several times over the past 2 months so they could attach the documents to my account. Each time I called a week after, then they would say they didn't receive the fax, even though I have confirmation from my fax machine that each did in fact go through ok. After speaking with a Dignity Health billing representative today, they stated that my doctor's zero balance statement was not received and that all they can do is put my account on hold for now. In all, this appears to be a shell game to me. It starts with taking advantage of the COVID pandemic by talking COVID positive people into this treatment without explaning what services could be CHARGED TO THE PATIENT if there is no insurance or a deductible. When it comes to billing, the patient gets the run around by receiving a zero balance statement from one billing dept., only to get a duplicate statement from another entity's billing dept. with no details of services. It sounds like double billing to me. This experience has not been dignified or healthy for me and has caused me undue stress and frustration. I now wish I had said NO to the treatment since I only had mild symptoms a week after testing positive for COVID-19. My only option to resolve this seems to be to send my story to LA television stations to expose this scam for what it is, and so this will not happen to anyone else."
