"I have been coming to see Dr Kamler for years, and last year he was present with another Dr at CHOMP to do emergency surgery on my stomach. I was so relieved to see him there with my surgeon. He is such a kind, caring Dr who takes all the time you need to explain your situation. I saw him again today and it is just a joy to see his smile. His staff is amazing, thank you Kathy for your kindness and support during my visit. Thank you also to Olivia for helping me with my appointment to see Dr. Kamler again. I highly recommend this kind, compassionate, professional man."
"I hadn't seen Dr Kamler in eight years, but he was so friendly, compassionate and well informed, that I remembered him fondly. When my primary doctor gave his name as a choice for referral, I chose him immediately. I was shocked to read the bad review from a week ago. Sure enough, after seeing him today, I found him to be the same caring, well informed, WONDERFUL doctor I remember. Since my late husband was a hemophiliac, I have had MANY meetings with MANY doctors. If she didn't like this one, she's in trouble, because he is as good as they come. I have only the deepest gratitude for any health worker who gives years of his life to initial education and ongoing education, is dedicated to extremely long hours with little off time, in a system that is all but broken. I found him generous with his time, well informed, communicative, and confidence inspiring. I would highly recommend Dr. Kamler."
"Dr. Kamler was incredibly dismissive, non-engaging and cynical when it came to my concerns with my care. Before examining me, he initially said that I had hemorrhoids and nothing to worry about because I was healthy. After the exam on the table, he said that I did not have hemorrhoids. I tried to speak to him about my family history of colon cancer in which he told me that I am too young and that if I had cancer it would've showed up on my CT scan. I had a colonoscopy with him as well, and during that colonoscopy, when I came into the exam room, he was car shopping on his computer and did not even acknowledge me while I was laying down getting ready for my anesthesia. While I was in the recovery room, he came into the room and said "I bet you were hoping I would find cancer ". I then asked him if my colonoscopy was clear, then why am I still in pain. He replied "are you having pain now or are you talking about previous pain, because I have to go." I have never in my experience had a doctor that was so arrogant, dismissive, and just lacked basic empathy for a patient. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone, especially anyone with a complex medical diagnosis. He acted as though my diagnosis would not be impacting me as an adult, despite there being numerous peer reviewed articles from surgeons and doctors who wrote and spoke about this condition and the urgency of treatment. He was unwilling to listen to my concerns and I left both visits in tears and with a lot of anxiety about my care with him. I ended up switching providers and walked into that appointment very anxious and fearful, however, after seeing a new provider at the Salinas location, I was treated with respect empathy, and was listened to."
