"Taking accountability for your employees actions. It's not fair for the customer to be held accountable for the mistake of staff. IfIf error occur due to the lack thereof of your employees knowledge the consumer/ customer should not be held accountable and therefore be required to pay more than what the marked price on the product is. It's sad that local neighborhood stores take advantage of individuals due to the easy accessibility to the location. A lot of times small business owners take advantage due to the convenience of a walk down the street or less than a mile drive. Awareness to the community if needed and there are some individuals that can make things of that nature occur. I've also included a snip it of code 12024.2 below. Knowledge is always power. There is also laws associated with this. California's Business and Professional Code 12024.2 (effective since 2005) has this language: (a) It is unlawful for any person, at the time of sale of a commodity, to do any of the following: (1) Charge an amount greater than the price, or to compute an amount greater than a true extension of a price per unit, that is then advertised, posted, marked, displayed, or quoted for that commodity. (2) Charge an amount greater than the lowest price posted on the commodity itself or on a shelf tag that corresponds to the commodity, notwithstanding any limitation of the time period for which the posted price is in."
