Reviews
"Sadly this is purely a restaurant for views and instagram pictures rather than food. I was excited to finally try this place because the reviews were so good. I love trying new sushi places and made the time to go here only to find out it was the most basic sushi I have ever had. Not a single dish besides the Toffee Cake was good. You can go to many hole in the wall places to get a much better sushi roll. I kept asking whether it was me but everyone else at dinner with me was also wondering where the taste was. As for the view, there is no denying it’s gorgeous and absolutely the reason to go here. I just wish the food matched the view. I paid $300 for the dinner and the only parking option is valet since it is at the top of a very narrow hill. When I got there I asked for outdoor seating and they said “well do our best to make it happen; but no guarantee” which I found odd because there were more tables unoccupied outside than seated. At the moment I hear they’re looking to sell which makes sense, this place needs a refresh in all aspects, but most importantly the food. Overall, I simply cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you want better sushi (not hard to do compared to this place) go to Sugarfish or many other options in LA. If you want good views, go to Griffith or the various other places that are easier to get to. I will say our server was fantastic and the highlight of the night. Otherwise, very disappointed."
"Beautiful place! The food is amazing. A perfect place for a date night or to celebrate any occasion. The only critique is that our waiter was aloof and did not check in regularly to ask if we needed anything. Aside from that I would return again to enjoy the delicious food."
"My family, a party of 10, dined here back on Mother’s Day. Parking is easy as it is valet. We had made a reservation and they sat us down within a couple minutes of our reservation time. We arrived early and enjoyed walking around the property and garden, taking in the beautiful views of the city below and all the fish ponds and flowers. Our waiter was kind, but the service was a bit slow, perhaps due to our large party size. The food was good-tasting and nicely portioned. It was a bit higher priced, but worth it for the ambience."
"It was our first time here and we had such a delightful experience ! We had dinner here to celebrate our anniversary and we enjoyed it so much that we can't wait to go back. Our waiter and every staff member we encountered was so nice to us. The atmosphere and vibes were so cute! Overlooking LA was so pretty and such a nice sight to see at night time. The food was soooo delicious ! It's definitely pricey but the quality is so worth it. There was only one item I didn't care for and that was because I didn't fully understand what it really was. Other than that everything was a great experience and we cannot wait to go back !"
"Food is just dreadful. Takes away all the stars from Service and Atmosphere. First off, they serve American style Japanese food that I could get it elsewhere with a quarter price. Just look at the pictures. And the quality of the food is mediocre. There’s even raw batter mix in the beef kushiage. My recommendation is to just turn this place into a museum since everything other than the food is awesome."
