"This company is a joke. They do nothing to take care of their employees and intentionally violate California labor laws to save a few dollars. They rip off clients and PG&E alike. They intentionally do sub par work so as to complete the job faster and get paid more money. My husband worked for this company. He was hurt on the job (cut his finger almost to the bone while slicing wire) on a Friday. He informed the "salesman" who books the jobs and the CFO, Mark. They refused to file the proper paperwork for worker's compensation. The following Monday my husband insisted on seeing a doctor as he'd spent the weekend with super glue to try and keep the bleeding under control. They refused to allow him to file a worker's compensation claim with the doctor and insisted on "handling it privately" so their premiums wouldn't increase. My husband refused to do that. When he called the office and requested the name of the WC insurance company, the receptionist, Rizzia, told him she didn't have that info. He asked her to go look at the poster that CA labor law requires be posted in the office (and that is required to have WC info on it). She refused and told my husband he'd need to talk to Mark about it. That's when they stopped returning his calls and emails. We assume he no longer works for 3L but nobody has told him for sure. His finger now has permanent nerve damage that he now has to take legal action for. Jonathan, their "salesman", has no CLUE about what he's selling. He regularly bids jobs for impossible timeframes. My journeyman husband would tell him a job would take five days but Jonathan would sell the job for three days then pressure my husband to rush and do shoddy work. He was told to just get through it in the amount of time the job had been sold for and to disregard the quality. He was flat out told that they'd go back and fix whatever issues if (and ONLY if) the customer complained. My husband was retrofitting a site another "electrician" had previously done and found a live current running through a metal shelving unit. If someone had touched it they would have been severely injured. Nobody cared when my husband brought it to the company's attention. Jonathan is disrespectful to clients-he actually cursed out the owner of one of the businesses in front of that client's customers in his own store. He also regularly shows up to job sites high on cocaine. He steals merchandise from the company for personal use. He bills customers for product that he then keeps for personal use. A lot of the jobs they do allow them to obtain rebates through PG&E. Jonathan sells certain lights to the client then submits rebates to PG&E for more expensive lights for bigger rebates, intentionally defrauding PG&E. Again, this has been reported to the company. Again, nobody cares. So, if you're okay with hiring a company that mistreats its employees, rips clients off monetarily and may put you in the midst of a lawsuit due to poorly done work and intentional fraud, then 3L is for you. Otherwise you should probably seek out a different company."
