"I did everything in my power to become a blood donor for this department, however I am beyond disappointed in one staff member. First and foremost, it's hard to get call backs from them, so l decided to travel from Navarre to Fort Walton to meet them in person and to schedule an appointment as a first time donor. In my understanding, you are required to provide the necessary information and documentations on hand before you can forward yourself as a donor. Unfortunately, I had an issue with only one staff member of the plasma team division. The rest of the staff were excellent, communicative and professional, however one staff member did NOT meet my expectations. I am a bit slow and when she asked for my last four digits of my number, I said "sorry it's on my seat didn't know you needed it" assuming that they would have me registered and open my file. She yelled at me then shook her head at me. My heart rate went up and when she came to check it the second time, she said "your heart rate actually went up more than the first one" I said, "well I don't blame it, you just yelled at me. I will not be coming back because I did not appreciate the service here today" she concluded, "I'm sorry you feel that way" which is a non-apologetic approach. I hope that one of the best staff members or manager sees this message to work better for a more efficient team!! Let's do better please."
"I have been influenced to donate blood as it can help others and yourself! So i went in a couple days ago and found out my veins were small and couldn’t donate. 3 days later (today) I went in to try one more time and again was told my veins were to small. Britney came in and she said she could poke me and get my blood. She had so much confidence while being real with me the whole time. She did it, she got a needle in my small vein and I was able to donate! Thank you Britney, it may not seem serious, but I was so happy to be able to donate and help others! Give her a raise stat!"
"I've donated blood for many years, but the last time I donate was at a mobile unit and the person that was In charge of drawing my blood was very rude and ti make matters worse, they allowed a woman across from me to play games on her phone with the volume very loud! Been trying to contact one blood for several weeks to complain and to try and get my rewards that in supsosed to recieve! Problems with getting a verificación code on the website! I've let message after message but one blood doesn't seemed to care about returning call!"
"Today I went for a platelet donation appointment at the Racetrack Road Center. They have a new policy mandating masks for donors, even though I donated last week and the week before without a mask. As a 73-year-old 50-gallon donor who is supposedly part of the “high risk” group, I accept the risk of being exposed, and I have no objection to others who may want to wear masks, even in ignorance of medical facts. I know that masks do nothing other than diminish my immune system and reduce my oxygen level. If I am a symptomless carrier of COVID-19, a mask does nothing to stop transmission, and if I have symptoms, I will not be allowed to donate anyway, and should STAY HOME. I will not wear a mask for these reasons, and will not donate again until this silly policy is rescinded."
"Donated at one of their One Blood buses. Amazing experience. I donated double red cells so I was there for some time and the staff ensured I was comfortable the whole time. Free cookies and a drink! And a brochure/pamphlet with information about the impact of my blood type, really helps you understand the importance of donating your blood to help others out."
