"Oneblood BOUGHT the rights to use the Gator logo as a way to draw more Gainesville donors to their buses. It's an advertising gimmick. They ARE NOT supplying blood to Gators or to any patients of Shands or North Florida Regional hospitals. LifeSouth blood center supplies 100% of Shands and NFR. It is deceitful advertising and shame on them for taking Gainesville donor blood out of Gainesville for use in Orlando and further south. Shands is a trauma hospital and always has a critical need for blood. Also Shands supplies blood for organ transplants and sickle cell treatments and cancer patient support. All of their blood and blood products come from LifeSouth NOT oneblood. LifeSouth sometimes has to buy blood from other blood centers because the blood supply is so low. They wouldn't have to if other blood centers didn't come into our town and steal our Gainesville donor blood. Shame on them!"
"I was told that I would get 60-70 per platelet donation and apparently it was a lie. After sitting there donating for two hours, all I got was a 20 dollar gift card. I asked right there and then, and I was told that I would get the rest on a second email. Called a couple days later and was told that $20 is all you get. What makes me upset is the lies and the back and forth, just be honest from the get go so one can make an educated decision. Will never donate to this company again."
"Upon entering, you're instantly greeted. The establishment is well kept inside. Just over all, a VERY welcoming atmosphere! Every single staff member I encountered was super nice! However, Michael topped the cake! Michael was not only super friendly but he was super informative and not to mention he was able to find my vein the FIRST try (a struggle when it comes to me donating). Michael has a warm spirit and definitely makes me want to come back again. YOU GUYS KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!"
"Hey Dominic, you are missing some things. Life South sends well over half the blood they collect out of state. One Blood supplies 10 times more hospitals in Florida than they do. One Blood supplies the trauma helicopter in Gainesville. It’s not as simple as saying they don’t serve the community they get blood from. If One Blood consumed Life South, retained all their local employees, and took over all the blood contracts here in Gainesville, would they still be bad to you? It’s not the same concept as pulling your fish boat up with the catch of the day. Blood still comes down to a money making business which agreements and contracts are entered into. Do you have bias or a stake in the blood market here in Gainesville?"
"This company collects blood in the Gainesville community, but does supply the the community with blood. They also seem to be aggressively trying to complete with Lifesouth, which supplies the Gainesville community. Please consider donating to Lifesouth instead of this company if you wish to support the community."
