"There used to be a mayors line, Welch got rid of that. People are so busy trying to pay bills like increased water and forced recycling and garbage. The alleys are full of junk and it takes two weeks for the city to come pick stuff up on special request. Every number I call to talk to someone or ask for help gives me someone else number and nobody seems to care, the employees seem miserable as well. The flooding has gotten worse and worse over the last several years especially. This guy saying pack up and leave is out of touch with reality. This is our city."
"If are city is run a quarter as bad as this office is yikes. If I didn't live in this city it would be comical. You can never get a hold of anyone their always in a meeting 8-5 Monday thru Friday. And there scheduled up as far as they schedule into the future. Just call to any St. Petersburg city phone number and you'll see. They act they have better things to do. Do they not know they work for city services. The problem is this good Ole boy network they've had in the city for so long it has gone to these people's heads. They think that there unreplacable. Like theirs not a thousand people that would do there job without the chip on their shoulder. Why is nobody in the mayors office ever available to talk to the people about the problems their experiencing with city services? Why are they so put out be the mere mention of this? Is this not what they are employed to do?"
"We have called for years to fix clogged sewer drain to no avail. AND why should anyone be made to recycle. WE sent the cumbersome can back and still pay...talk about eyesores all over the alleys! WHO'S BRILLIANT idea was that? The street sweeper is fabulous. Our neighbor keeps dumping open diapers in the dumpster MAyor! County, city, codes, health department, neighborhood association; Won't address it! WILL YOU?"
"I have called numerous times to get nothing but a run around regarding the sunrunner project that has bottlenecked 1st Ave North and South from three lanes into two lanes while the roads are being severely neglected for much needed repairs. Examples include 62nd Ave North 38th Ave North 22nd Avenue North 1st Ave North and South and many others are becoming rutted up and full of potholes and patches. Everybody I talk to you about the sunrunner project has no interest in more public transportation. If that's not bad enough garden beds or whatever you want to call them are being installed on the opposite corner of sunrunner making it much harder to turn the corner especially if you have a trailer. Have back room deals been made and people being paid off against the interest of the public I'm not sure what's going on? I am a 51-year year native resident of St Petersburg this is the worst I have ever seen the roads. Is Mayor Rick Welch behind this? is that who I vote against?"
"I have been a resident of St. Petersburg for 6 years. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Mayors action center, See Click Fix, and several of local departments within St Petersburg. I just called Mayor’s Action Line this morning and thanked them for the wonderful job they do. Rather than posting negative comments others need to realize all of the employees within St Petersburg local government do their best. It’s not always perfect. I love St Petersburg as it has a lot to offer. If those that are miserable living here and constantly complain please let me know if I can help you pack up your moving truck. Just move away. If you’re not happy please don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Stop complaining and be grateful for city government and all they do. Thanks again St Petersburg government for providing beautiful city and wonderful place to call hone."
