Reviews
"Affordable cabins, very clean bathrooms. A nice weekend getaway spot during the cooler months."
"A 5-star review is a little bit generous, since the campground does not have wifi or electric, but I am giving high marks to the place because of the ultra-clean and new bathroom building. I drove from New Jersey to different parts of Florida and I spent two nights here in March 2024. It's a pleasant and attractive place. I enjoyed my stay and would come again. I camped in a tent but next time I'd like to try the cabins which are not very expensive and look very nice. The grounds are beautiful. Background noise from the interstate is constant but it didn't bother me. The bathroom building is super clean and feels new-- the best campground bathroom I have seen. Campsites are well spaced apart and well laid-out. It's apparent that landscape architects or designers had a role in developing this park. The site is well-planned. Most campsites have tall trees and are situated on the edge of lush vegetation. I wish there was wifi and I wish the campground was open 7 days a week, because I would have stayed longer. The campground is open on weekends only. And I wish the campsites had electricity. Maybe the city of St. Pete will make these improvements in the near future. The arrival experience was not good because the picnic table was covered with gunk (plant material and debris fallen from trees) and it took some time and effort to clean the table. While camping, there was almost nobody around me. Does anybody know this campground exists? In late March very few campsites were occupied but 2 cabins had families with children having lots of fun. This is a good location 10 min. from downtown St. Pete and 10 minutes from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and recreation area. Less than 15 min. to St. Pete Beach. Good campground, good experience."
"It’s a beautiful spot. The campground and cabins are well maintained. The only issue is the road noise (close to the interstate) and the lack of anything but a bed in the cabins. A chair and table would be nice!"
"Five stars for a very nice group campsite with a constructed fire pit & moveable benches, plus access to the trails at Boyd Hill Preserve. One star deduction for a ridiculous ant infestation at the group site. Ants in everyone's tents, ants in our cars parked at the Osprey Roost, ants by the fireplace....(you get it). Fortunately not the biting kind, and no, we did not keep food in our tents if that's what you're thinking. Restrooms out of commission but super fun solar showers outside."
"Perfect camping opportunity right in your backyard. The cabins are spacious and have electricity a well as ceiling fans. Windows can be opened and have screens. We took a night hike (guided of course), and love it. Cooked several meals on the open fire. There's plenty of space for children to run around. The bathrooms need a little sprucing up especially the showers. Overall I would definitely return."
