First Watch

"When I arrived around noon, the place and parking lot were filled to the brim. I was still able to find plenty of parking in the back. Walking in, I passed a few groups who were walking slow with smiles on their faces. That's a good sign. I was immediately greeted at the door and, being alone, offered to sit at the bar. There were a couple booths and tables still open and by the time I was leaving, I overheard there was a 5 minutes wait. Not bad given the traffic. The staff were awesome and running around every which way, but always taking the time to address me and the older couple next to me. I hadn't yet decided on a drink so I just got water. I was given what I would consider fancy water that tasted fresh, not from a tap. Food was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs scrambled. The lady next to me heard my order and changed hers on the spot. Malarie, our server, immediately told the kitchen. Their plates and mine landed on the counter at almost the same time less than 10 minutes later. Outstanding service from the wait staff and kitchen. 10/10 all around. I'll be back again"

"First Watch on Nall This is a new location. It is clean inside and out. Plenty of handicap parking The interior is very tasteful with nice decor and upgraded table surfaces. Definitely the nicest First Watch location we have been in. Sever was very nice. Now for the less than perfect. It clear they are still working out the kinks of a new location. Order : Trifecta - crisp waffle no butter or powered sugar , scrambled eggs dry - well done no chives on them , bacon still chewy and hot tea. 1. Hot tea hot water container lid pops off as I attempt to poor hot water - on the table , on the floor and on my hand and shirt -luckily while it hurt it didn’t burn my skin 2. Waffle crisp - not crisp - barely warm- the remake was still not crisp and they added the powder sugar which shows they didn’t view the original order 3. Bacon crispy - not still chewy 4. Scrambled eggs dry well done- not well done - remake - not well done and added chives - remake still not well done The manager came out and politely took care of it. We will give them another try."

"My mom and I were disappointed at the service from our waitress at this location. We love First Watch and we’re excited to eat at this new location! Our waitress told us she would bring out our drinks when our food came out….we were confused as to why…however she said it was a new policy…wouldn’t one think that if you were drinking a yummy drink while waiting for your food, that you could drink all of it and order another? It would be good business for them? But no….my mom got her drink when her food came out and my drink didn’t come out until AFTER we had finished our food! We asked if mine could at least be taken off our check and our waitress’s exact words were “well if you didn’t want the drink I didn’t have to bring it out.” My mom and I tried explaining to her that’s not what we were saying, that we just wanted to not be charged for it, and as we were talking she walked away and rolled her eyes at us. Long story longer, the manager approved it to be taken off. It did not take away from the fact that it was a terrible experience though. The staff needs to get it together."

"We are not from the Overland Park area, and were actually looking for a spot to get a good iced coffee for my wife. We found this place and mistakenly thought it was a Panera-style eatery, not a sit-down eatery. But we stayed anyway, and we are glad we did! My wife's iced mocha was delicious (yes, I sampled it), and my regular coffee was smooth as silk. We even decided to try a cup of cheesy grits, and they were fantastic. Had we not already eaten breakfast at our hotel we certainly would have chosen one here!!"

"What a lovely pre opening breakfast we had! The quality awesome as always, fresh, good quantity and on time. We had the best waitress “Allison” she did our day perfect as she went above and beyond with her service. No doubt this is going to be our new fav breakfast place. Strongly recommend the avo toast!"
