"Waited 1.5 hours and received approximately 10 minutes of the doctor's time (in the off-season)! She walked in and said, "Hello, [read name on chart], right?" Then proceeded to write a pile of referrals with no apparent bedside manner or sympathy."
"Rushed, also that is a very old photo of her, she doesn't look like that. She is about 20 years older, needs to be updated. I had a list of symptoms I have been experiencing and she told me to go fast because she didn't have that much time to go over them. Also wanted a referral to an Ear Nose & Throat doctor, but once I got home and went through all the materials it wasn't there. I called and spoke to someone in their office and I never received a call back. I only received calls to get a colonoscopy and a mammogram. This is the America sick care system. Will only refer you to modalities that can be billed for $$$$$. But if I came over the border I could get free gender transition therapy. I'm paying for my coverage. I'm aware of the symptoms I'm having. Why can't I get the appropriate care?"
"How do I even start? Saw Dr. Acosta for the first time on May 1st. I arrived way ahead of my appointment time, filled out the forms, and waited to be called. The nurse came, and took me to the exam room. And there, I waited. And waited. And waited some more. My appointment was at 1pm, the doctor didn't come until 1:30 or so. Silly me for opening the door and asking said nurse (whose English was incoherent and confusing) if they had forgotten about me - because I was left in the room for 30 minutes with no one so much as letting me know the doctor was running behind schedule. Upon asking, she gives me one of those eye rolls ...lol...really? She seemed surprised and bothered that I was asking such a simple question..."has the doctor forgotten about me? Because my appointment was at 1pm and it's close to 1:30....., I said to such seemingly inconvenienced nurse. A few minutes later, Dr. Acosta comes in, zero apologies given for being late, and the consult finally starts. I told her right there and then her nurse needed manners. Not a good first impression, huh? Anyways, consult was done, I was not impressed with Dr. Acosta's manners either, but thought, well, let's give this a try. Got lab orders, etc. Fast forward to today, June 11th, when I had an appointment at 1:45pm. I drove 45 minutes, under pouring rain (photo attached) and arrived at 2pm. Yes, 15 mins late. The receptionist tells me I am late, we might need to reschedule. I ask her if she can check with the doctor if she can still see me since I am already here and - as far as I know doctors always seem to give you a 15min. grace period - because, well, life (or storms) can happen to the best of us. The lady at the front desk agrees to ask and comes back to me. Sorry, doctor said no, you will have to reschedule. I tell her: so, I can wait over 30mins for the doctor, but how dare I be 15 mins late? I said, no thank you, I will not be coming back. I will find another doctor a bit more...hmmm...considerate? I know time is money, and I also know things may put us behind schedule. But her time is not more valuable than mine. Terrible way of treating people. Doctor and nurse need people's skills. Badly. Rant over. :)"
"My experience with the doctor was very good. She is knowledgeable and professional. My experience getting my prescription that was written by the doctor was horrific. Two weeks later I still do not have the medication. Because I am a teacher and cannot answer my telephone any time it rings, Dr. Acosta’s office will not return my calls. I called every day for a week trying to get an answer about my prescription. I gave up."
"Have been with Dr. Acosta for several years now. Overall, I had been satisfied with the care I was receiving. However, a recent experience has really soured my opinion. I had a wellness appointment scheduled. Unfortunately there was an accident on the interstate and delayed my arrival time by 20 minutes after the grace period. While I was sitting in traffic I called to let the office know what was going on and would be late, but I was on my way. When I arrived, I was refused to be seen (this was personally decided by Dr. Acosta). I do understand schedules have to be kept, except I have been kept waiting for previous appointments on multiple occasions for more than 30 minutes. Very much a double standard!"
