"Went in after being bitten in my face by a dog. They cleaned the laceration on my eye lid and forehead. Stitches were necessary. Very happy with the service of doctors, nurses and support staff."
"I sit here and shed tears as I write this because I am in awe of the amazing nurse that cared for my grandmother this evening. I know this may not apply to every facility, and may not be everyone’s opinion, but when I come to a hospital - I don’t expect nice nurses. More than likely they’re all exhausted, overworked, underpaid, just here to collect a paycheck, or all of the above. Again, I know this may not be the case everywhere, but healthcare is certainly not what it should be these days. Anyways, my grandmother is a hospice patient which is already terrifying enough, and then to top it off we had to rush her to the hospital. I was greeted by the kindest, warm, and knowledgeable nurse by the name of Chris. He acknowledged my grandmother not just as a patient, but almost as an old pal as well. He smiled and laughed with her, and it was in that minute the room felt safe. It was in that moment that I thought to myself “she is in great hands.” Interactions like these don’t happen nearly as often as the bad ones do. But I’m sure grateful we were the ones to experience the beautiful side of healthcare. Chris carried himself with confidence, integrity, and a warmth that I cannot explain. He epitomizes what healthcare should look like. When I watched him genuinely laugh with my grandma, I thought to myself, “this is why people become nurses.” It may not have been physically visible, but this man was certainly wearing a cape. He did the most important thing a healthcare professional can do, that is often times overlooked. He listened. Again, a huge thank you Chris the Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. You sir, are a healthcare hero, and I sincerely thank you for all that you did for us this evening!"
"Brought my sister, visiting from Mn, in after a bad fall. She had a broken hand and multiple lacerations to her face and body. I would give the care providers a 5! She was provided prompt, thorough, and friendly but professional care. She had CT scans of head and spine, X-ray of hand, a hard splint applied to her hand, and wound care to her face and abrasions. Clear follow up instructions were provided along with a prescription for pain. We spent just over 2 hours at the facility start to finish! Overall experience was excellent with one exception- the initial interaction with the receptionist who seemed distracted and disinterested to the point of seeming rather rude. She didn’t make a good first impression, but the rest of the staff was excellent! Hire a compassionate friendly person for your “first impression” desk!"
"I went to the NCH ER yesterday. I thought I was having some kind of irregular heartbeat. They treated me fantastic. The nurse Judy was fantastic. The doctor Dr. Lewis treated me well and cared. I was seen quickly and had diagnostic tests immediately. The care was five stars I highly recommend NCH ER on Immokalee and Collier it is my opinion they will take good care of you!"
