"Sorry such a long review but context matters. When I moved to Bonita in August I signed up for Dr Solano to be my primary care physician because I wanted all my care to be under one roof at Lee Health. Even though I couldn't get my annual checkup appointment until January, I thought I had a doctor. Nope! For several factors, I started having a mental health crisis yesterday. I was in the area so I went to the office to ask for help, a referral or some kind of support. They said there was nothing they could offer me except send me to the ER. Because Im not in an imminent harm state insurance wont pay for the ER. Then they said I could see Dr Solano today at 3, and I said great. THEN they said another doctor in the practice could help me today. So I waited for 45 minutes to then be told that it was against the law for another doctor to see me since I hadn't seen Dr Solano yet. And in the time I was waiting they gave away theSo they said they would work out something for today and PROMISED to call me. In my distress, I got confused and they never called. So I showed up at 3. I then realized my mistake after getting there. So I waited hoping someone could help me. Dr Solano came out and said she couldn't help or see me and that Im not really her patient until I come in January. I have never heard of such a thing. She then blamed the office manager for not calling me. She said there is a doctor shortage in SWFL and thats the way it is. She then had the gall to say (and I quote) “I am compromising the care of my patients by even coming out here to talk to you.” Seriously. In a fake soothing tone. I don't know if this incompetence is Lee Health in general or if it is just this particular sub-practice, but this callous attitude is not only unprofessional - it is dangerous. The woman at the front desk was mortified both days and was lovely. I feel bad for her."
