Reviews of Fort Barrancas Visitor Center, Gulf Islands National Seashore
"Helpful rangers and informative display. The rest areas and grounds were all very clean and well-maintained. As of October 23, you do not need to pay to go into the fort."
"FYI you don’t need a military ID to visit you need to go thru the NAS Pensacola West Gate with a valid ID. The park is free to visit and is a self guided tour. They have bathrooms and a water fountain."
"The old #StarFort was amazing, it has stood the test of time in remarkable condition. There's a few benches to sit throughout, it's a pretty large fort. The signs throughout give an awesome history lesson, may not be the best place to bring a young kid with all of the stairwells, and steep stairs but if they can handle a hike in the Florida weather, they will find a nice temperature drop in the lower sections, it was about 10°F cooler in the lower level than up at ground level. For anyone interested in Seeing very historic American battle sights I highly recommend this one. And the N.A.S. Meuseum right up the street. Both of them are free to visit and definitely worth the visit."
"The visitor center is completely closed even though Google and the national park website says it’s open. No stuff in there or anything. No national park passport stamps available. I’m going to try Fort Pickens next."
"Cool place to see, a must do if in the area."
