Located at 2315 West Jackson Street, Pensacola, Florida, Dr. George Smith is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to our community. As the Chief Medical Officer of Community Health Northwest Florida, Dr. Smith has been a pivotal part of our team since 1994, bringing over 30 years of experience in caring for medically needy, vulnerable, and culturally diverse populations.

Dr. Smith's impressive medical journey began at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, where he earned his MB. BS with honors in Community Health. His career includes a rotating internship and ambulatory care work at Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas, followed by a residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he was recognized as the Most Outstanding Intern and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Smith is board certified in Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He was honored as the 2006 Florida Family Physician of the Year.

Before joining Escambia Community Clinics, Dr. Smith served as a Captain at the 49th Fighter Hospital at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. He has held prestigious positions, including past president of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and the Escambia County Medical Society. Dr. Smith also contributes to medical education as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Florida and Florida State University, mentoring medical students, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

Community Health Northwest Florida is a Federally Qualified Health Center and a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Deemed Facility, ensuring high-quality healthcare services.
