"Our family has worked with Sawgrass Construction on two residential projects. One was a large backyard addition in Caloosa Creek. It included an outdoor kitchen, storage shed, patio seating, and large swimming pool. Joe McKenzie was very knowledgeable and creative. He used his architectural expertise, along with building experience, to create a huge outdoor space for us. He had to add on to our existing roof to make this work. He even had to build a temporary road to our backyard to accommodate the heavy equipment (our side lot was low and could not accommodate heavy trucks). On our other project, Joe McKenzie has proven to be dependable to help us design a new outdoor space on our canal-front home. We have an older home that does not meet current setbacks of the Land Development Codes of Lee County. Joe is very resourceful with the LDC; he knows the planners down at the county. Joe thinks outside of the box to create unique designs that are structurally attractive. On a side note, we met Joe McKenzie over 15 years ago, through friends. Their residential projects by Sawgrass were also completed successfully, and because we heard good reviews, we hired him too! Joe is friendly and corresponds well with texts, phone calls, and emails."
