"Jim and Deborah are exceedingly professional and wonderful to work with. We called and had Jim come to the house to give us an estimate for a deck within a few days. Jim was patient and knowledgeable as we went back and forth with design ideas. Once we signed off on the final estimate, the whole project took a week, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much work was done at the end of each day. Jim was always diligent in checking how the work was done. Once, we noticed a few boards on the deck were a little jammed together, a minor imperfection that we thought we would have to live with. Jim noticed and fixed those boards without us even telling him, which goes to show how concerned he is with the quality of his work. The results speak for themselves. "My experience with Jim and Deborah from Suncoast about replacing my aging 2nd story deck/patio was excellent from the start. After a very competitive estimate, and a slight delay (due to architectural plan rendering and the City of StPete's slow permitting process), Jim and his crew were at my house pretty much daily (and over Christmas and New Years!) to get this project completed. With my old house, we had numerous surprises, from termite damage to water damage, which Jim and his team expertly resolved. I was very glad I could depend on Jim's expertise in keeping me informed of these issues as they arose and his quick solutions for fixing them. "Jim and Deborah are a truly professional pair. We wanted to replace our old concrete driveway and front porch, expand our backyard paver patio and connect the two with a walkway along the side of the house. We also wanted to build a pergola for added shade over the patio. We got estimates from a commercial paver company and a local contractor we used for some indoor remodeling but both came in quite high. We knew a neighbor who used Jim to build a pergola and was pleased with his work, so we asked them to give us an estimate. His price was lower than the other estimates and he had good reviews, so we took the plunge. It was a great decision. They started on time, showed up every day, did the work professionally and cleaned up after themselves when done. They even stacked my leftover pavers out of sight for future use. My driveway and front have lots of curves and they cut them cleanly, even though it took a lot more time and work than he had originally quoted for - yet he stuck to his original quote and did not try to increase the price. They also made sure the driveway had the proper slope for drainage to the street. Finally, while it wasn't required, we pulled a permit for the pergola, just to have another set of (trained) eyes on the work. When the inspector came out for the first time, he was very impressed with the work. When he came back for the final and saw the total finished project, he reiterated what an excellent job Jim had done. That's high praise from a city inspector! Jim and Deborah communicated well with us throughout the project and were a pleasure to deal with. We will use them again and would highly recommend them."
