"Camp Nubar is the best place in the world! I have made lifelong friends and I look forward to camp all year. It made me grow as a person and I love it there so much. The counselors and campers are awesome! They really make you feel safe. I actually cannot describe how much I love Camp Nubar."
"Dear camp representatives, please help me to understand what kind of a person tells a 12-year-old, who is not from the US, who traveled all the way from Armenia to stay at you camp, "we will let you call your parents ONLY in case you have an injury ". How normal is that?? My friend’s 12 yead old daughter, who travelled to the US specifically for this camp was told that there are no cell phones allowed in the camp. OK, I agree that there might be certain policies in the camp, and it sounds ok. But a child in an unfamiliar environment full of strangers for her, MUST be sure that she can have an option to speak with her parents and that should not be an option when she has a physical injury. The child was lied to for 3 days and later told us that she was thinking how to injure herself in order to be able to speak with her parents on the phone. After 3 days she managed to speak with her parents who picked her up immediately after finding out about these “interesting” rules of the camp. The child was in a complete distress. You need to take into consideration that you are an international camp with children travelling from all over the world and you must be flexible enough to understand that every child is different."
"Attending Camp Nubar was among the best experiences of my childhood. I wish that every child could have this experience - the beautiful setting, the fun activities, the friendships with other campers and counsellors, and the bit of freedom of being away from home in a safe environment."
