"Amazing trout fishing"
"Over the border into New York state from kent.these beehive kilns are awesome. Located in wiasaic new York just off rt.22."
"Very Cool!"
"Solid construction, evincing Wassaicβs industrial past. The kilns almost look like Hungarian dug-out houses, but of course these structures were only used for burning charcoal. Now they are covered in weeds. Inside is a dirt floor and little more. Two apertures let some light and air enter. The acoustics are haunting."
"Ruins of the Gridley Iron Furnace's kilns for charcoal constructed in 1825. Now overgrown but offering a spooky glimpse into the surrounding Harlem Valley's industrial past. The kilns' interiors feature otherworldly acoustics. Scaling the kilns is INadvisable as they are covered in poison ivy and may not withstand live loads!"
