"The reason I’m giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is due to their internet. It’s insanely cheap for what you get. However the power service is a complete joke. Is it doing absolutely nothing outside? Have fun losing power for absolutely no reason at all with no ETA on when it’s going to come back online. This happens multiple times a year. It used to be way worse, but it’s still a joke. Also during serious weather, have fun not having power for a week, or more. With once again, absolutely no ETA on when it’s coming back online. For how much they charge people for power, and also fees.. You’d think they’d maybe do a better job at making sure the power doesn’t go off on a weekly basis."

"Very over priced, unreliable service and company. We have numerous power outages a year and it takes them anywhere from 6-12 hours to numerous days to a full week for restoration. They definitely treat their customers as their lowest priority. Their prices are extremely steep and greedy. I have nothing positive to say about this company. It is a shame they are the only electric provider in the area and we have to go through them."

"Ostego electric company is the most heartless company out there. They will make you pay to get your deceased loved one off the bill if you are even late on one payment in 12 months!!! $200 that is Outrageous losing a loved one is hard enough, this company is unfair with it's policy's. We've been customers for 13 years and yet they show no sympathy for you no matter how long you've used there company."
