"If you're looking for a cozy getaway, this is the perfect place for you. A warm and inviting atmosphere, making you feel right at home from the moment you step inside. The owners are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The location is also fantastic, you feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but just minutes away from the downtown. Whether you're looking to relax and unwind or explore the surrounding area, this is the place for you. Overall, I highly recommend White Blossom house for anyone looking for a charming and memorable getaway. It's a true gem that you won't want to miss!"
"The Historic White Blossom was exactly as described, and what we expected. As one would imagine, the property from the 1800's is totally charming, a bit rustic, and still has every modern feature one needs. Our cabin had plenty of windows to let in the breeze, and hear the birds singing, plus good air conditioning. The beds were comfortable, the linens were lovely and there were plenty of towels. It easily accomodated four adults, but would also be great for a small family. The kitchen was well stocked. The gardens are especiallly lovely, with a patio or an evening drink and morning coffee that we certainly enjoyed. It was like going to a friends' home. Mono greeted us on our arrival to make sure to make sure we were settling in, and let us know she and Mark would be available if we needed them. Also, the location is very convienent. There is charming downtown Southold, with a nice market and wine store just across the street, and fun speciality shops. If your looking to avoid a hotel, and experince a quiet stay in the country, this could be the place for you Happy and safe travels Janice and Mike Sugerman Donna and Bob Russo"
"My review would have been much more positive thanks to the location, but the owners are terribly aggressive and rude. This can easily be observed by reading their online responses to the reviews: their comments on slight critical reviews by the guests are very harsh and impolite. The place is indeed nicely located. There are a few downsides: the beds are uncomfortable (low quality, soft sponge mattresses and pillows), dishes in the cupboards are dirty, water in the bathroom doesn't function well, dressers smell intensely, and internet connection is also bad. All of this could be nicely tolerated thanks to the location, however the host couple is aggressive and abruptly rude, they don't hesitate yelling at the guests out of a blue. Very weird experience!"
"This place was unbelievable! So much wrong here, but I won’t bury the lead, the owner came unhinged and kicked us out! Otherwise, it’s a dump! We stayed in apartment 2–the ceilings are 6 feet. I’m not kidding—it’s for hobbits. You have to crouch to shower. And the pillows are terrible, and the kitchen cabinets smelled like urine. I would have stayed, but complained. There were very limited options when we booked, but it was astonishingly bad for the eye watering price of $500/night. But it gets crazier! We booked through Expedia and ticked the box that we were bringing a dog. There was no way to indicate we were bringing a 2nd dog, but they are both small and peaceful so I wasn’t concerned. I was told I would get email instructions, but didn’t. I emailed the day of our arrival to say we would be there after 6 and asked for instructions. No response. So, we called. Ultimately I didn’t see the owners until the next afternoon. Long story short they sent a series of escalating messages demanding an additional pet fee, then (when I said I didn’t see an additional fee for additional pets in the agreement so said I would contest the charge) he got mad, then madder, then demanded we leave. All through emails! Literally nothing happened, the dogs caused 0 problems, he just completely flipped out. The owner has since refused to answer Expedia’s calls and emails. I’m still seeking a refund!"
"We stayed at this place for four nights and as four people: one couple and two singles. I will first give information about the practical issues, and in the following paragraph about the very problematic behaviours of the owners. There is one queen bed, with unpleasantly soft, low quality sponge mattress, and a full size bed, that has a slightly firmer but also an uncomfortable mattress. They both have also low quality, uncomfortable pillows. Apt 1 is spacious: it has a living room and dining room area as well as a small patio. There's an ok bathroom, but the shower was broken: when you turn the tap, a very small amount of water gets carried up to the shower, and the rest continues flowing from the bathroom tap, allowing you to take shower with very thin water. Upstairs there was another family staying. Their movement started around 6 am everyday, which created very strong noise and shaking downstairs that did not let us sleep after that time. In our case, there were two little kids running up and down all morning, that caused the noise primarily, but any slight movement upstairs creates quite a noise and shakes downstairs. The place has a fully equipped kitchen. Half of the equipment in the cupboards were quite greasy, so we had to wash them thoroughly before using them, but we didn't complain about any of these. There were broken glass shards in the patio. We tried our best to clear them to be safe, but one piece nevertheless cut my foot on the day of the departure. When leaving, we kindly warned the owners about this, thinking about the health of the following guests but their response was shockingly rude. We stayed in one of their "best apartments" quoting the owner, and we were immensely happy to arrive at this place. Little we knew then that this was going to turn into a horror trip at the last minute because of the unacceptable behavioural issues and bad manners that the owner couple had. We had first made our reservation for a long weekend, completed our payment on booking.com. However, the owner reached us to inform us that due to their mistake, the booking com wasn't aware of the fact that the accommodation was actually full. That's why they "upgraded" us "offered" us better accommodation for the following weekend. However, they asked for quite a price difference, so there actually was no offer at all. We nevertheless accepted their apology and the new price, paid the difference, and sadly changed our plans for the following week, since we badly needed a vacation and didn't want to search again for a new place. When we arrived, they couldn't remember about the booking at all and didn't want to search into their records, so we had to fetch our information from our emailings to find out which apartment we were going to be hosted in. We were pretty surprised with this unwelcoming behaviour and letting us keep searching for emails instead of them searching for their own records, but we didn't want to think too much about that. We were looking forward to our stay so tried to keep a kind and positive relationship with the owners, despite their surprisingly unwelcoming attitude. On the day of departure, we were all ready and out at 12:07 instead of 12:00. Although we were out of the property, we found the husband and the wife, shouting at the top of their voice, threatening us with calling the police, and using very rude words. We could not understand the reason for such unacceptable behaviour. There was no reason to escalate any argument in that way nor was there any prior dispute. They both looked like they were out of their minds. After that, they complained to booking.com as if we left the property at 12:30 which was a plain, shameless lie. We are academics working and teaching in respected institutions. We treat people (as well as the environment and animals) with utmost care, and definitely did not deserve any of their ill-natured manners. We were all truly offended and felt humiliated, at the very moment where we were wishing to have a kind and friendly good-bye. We do not recommend this place to anyone."
