"I would strongly urge anyone against renting an apartment from this property management company. I lived in 33 Withers, Brooklyn for 1.5 years until I had to move out due to concerns for my safety due to carbon monoxide (CO) exposure. Over the past year, there were multiple instances of the fire department responding to high levels of carbon monoxide in the building. Despite these alarming incidents and pleading from tenants, the building management repeatedly failed to address the root cause adequately. Each time, the fire department identified the boiler as the source of the CO leak, yet the management only had their in-house maintenance personnel attempt repairs, rather than hiring a licensed plumber as required for safety (illegal in NYC). This negligence put residents' lives at risk. During one incident, I was awakened by firefighters due to dangerously high CO levels, resulting in disorientation and a severe headache. The situation escalated when subsequent inspections revealed CO levels of 800 PPM and 750 PPM, far exceeding safe limits. (Google those levels. They're deadly.) Ultimately, I had no choice but to move out abruptly, along with several other tenants, due to ongoing safety concerns. The building management's response was inadequate, and they even sent a "surrender agreement" after my departure. I'm still looking into taking legal action along with others to hold the building accountable for their neglegance. I urge anyone considering renting from this company to prioritize their safety and thoroughly investigate the building's maintenance and safety records before committing.
