99th Street Laundromat

"THE WORST PLACE TO WASH Despotic staff, they have no manners to treat their customers. The machines are defective, and it is not fair that we have that type of service. Customers are the ones who give life to businesses, and it is not possible for them to treat us as if they were giving us free laundry. That's why New York is the way it is because of people and businesses like that. What a shame."

"This place is great when it's not busy (just like any other laundromat), but it does constantly have machines that are out of order and really back up the flow of things. However, I still prefer it over most other laundromats due to the size of the machines."

"It has been almost a month since I used their wash and fold service. One of my clothing pieces turned into shreds and the worker neatly folded it, completely ignoring the damage. When my husband and I spoke with the staff, they were absolutely unhelpful and referred us to the owner, whom we called 3-4 times. We were promised a store credit and some cash. We agreed even though “Free people” brand is not as cheap as the money I was offered and I would have to add my money to replace my clothes. However, I never received what I was promised, I only received a bunch of excuses from the owner himself. He kept telling me he is busy and he will call me when my reimbursement is ready. It’s been almost a month and no one called me back. I followed up twice so far and don’t see a point of wasting my time. We all are busy people in NYC and that’s exactly why I used wash and fold service instead of washing the clothes myself. From now on, I’ll stay away from this unreliable and irresponsible place. I’d rather walk 20 min to another laundromat, which is what I’ve been doing ever since the incident. I get much better and quicker service at another laundromat in this area and I will leave that laundromat a 5 star review."

"So I’ve been going here a few years now and didn’t have much of a problem with this place until most of the dryers would stop in the middle of the cycle. They also have a broken washing machine (#22) that I couldn’t get my money back for (there was no sign on it and I hadn’t noticed it wasn’t working properly until I saw the soap dispenser at the top). Being that this is the only laundromat nearby, I wish they would take better care of the machines."

"If it was possible to put 0 starts I would. The personal here just not nice. As least to me. Maybe because I am not Spanish! First pleasant experience was "Do not use this machine, I need it". Well I thought customers come first. If you work here you have plenty of time to use what you want and do not tell me in a nasty way. The second thing was "Take out your things from this dryer, it's not for people to use, only workers". Another nice one! How do I know what and where is for employees and what for public. I do not like the way this lady spoke to me. I did not come to her house to use machinre. Everyone likes this laundry - for me, by not being a Spanish person, better to look for other one! P. S. And if you think they use for your laundry, that you pay crazy money, some good detergents - wrong. Some cheap industrial staff!"
