Reviews
"Terrible Laundry Mat! Self service was trash. My whites came back dirtier than I left. Weird stains on my white T-shirts. 2 laundry bags for $80 was absurd."
"I've hesitated to write this review for a long time because the owner is a very kind person, but today I reached my limit. I’ve been doing my laundry here for nearly two decades, but the quality of the customer experience has really taken a nosedive recently. The two older ladies who work here are frequently rude for absolutely no reason (they seem to forget that anyone in there is there to support the business that pays their bills, but I digress). However, this is NYC, so I could almost overlook the attitude if more than 50% of the dryers actually worked. Doing my laundry there has become a game of non-lethal but deeply annoying Russian roulette: I never know which dryer will actually work so I nearly always spend extra time and money to carry out this most simple of household chores. Can you imagine how frustrating it is to check your laundry after 40 minutes and the clothes are still sopping wet and the dryer drum is ice cold? Now imagine this happening on a work night when you have to cook, clean, study, take care of your family, etc. The worst part is that the two elder ladies who work there don’t even bother labeling the dryers that don’t work, and when you bring it to their attention, they catch an attitude like it’s your fault that their equipment is shoddy. This laundromat in many ways embodies the most negative aspects of certain businesses that operate in majority PoC neighborhoods. They charge premium prices while offering extremely poor customer service. Do they think that the residents of East Harlem aren’t entitled to kindness and respect when patronizing their establishment? Do they think we have nothing better to do than play guessing games with their dryers? If this laundromat was south of 96th Street, I guarantee you the premises would be spotless, the machines would work and the attendants would treat customers with basic courtesy. Even if it means walking a bit further, I would recommend taking your laundry elsewhere until the staff at this business decide to update their machinery and do away with the undignified attitudes."
"This is the best laundromat in NYC. The employees are all very nice and welcoming. Open 24 hours! One time I accidentally left my favorite sweatshirt there to dry instead of in the machine. I forgot it for a whole day and they know me so well that they saved it for me!! I would have been so upset if someone took it or it got lost but they are honest and saved it for me :) GREAT service and wonderful neighborhood feeling!"
"I can’t let this night end without giving accolades to Ms. Gloria. She is a lovely and honest individual. I forgot some valuables in the drying section of the Laundry and between Ms. Gloria and another trustworthy customer I was able to collect them. Thank you Ms. Gloria for your compassion, gems like you are rare. Continue to have a heart of gold. I will always recommend this place of business just because a person like Ms. Gloria is the attendant there. I hope management treats her well."
"I have been using the machines in this place for a long time and lately I have seen how the cleaning of the premises has been forgotten. You have to be attentive to your belongings so that you are not taking cockroaches into your home. I can say that even some managers have a somewhat unpleasant attitude, I can mention an older Hispanic woman, who only speaks Spanish to those who like her, to those who do not like her, she speaks English and is very rude in her treatment of the clients. Too bad it was a good place open 24/7."
