"Great live customer service is their only saving grace thanks to Greg. Extremely poor customer service by phone which is probably not even an employee of the Middle Island location, but still reflects the USPS. And don’t get me started on the hold times when calling the 1800 number. Ridiculous! And most frustrating is that it took 11 days for 1 certified letter to reach Albany NY from Long Island. The USPS site shows it in transit for 10 days straight. It’s 5 freakin hours away. The United States Postal Service should close up shop."

"This post office is terrible. The mail carrier leaves our mailbox open and the mail gets soaking wet when it rains. They left a note one day that they attempted to deliver a package but it required a signature and no one answered the door. The package did not require a signature and no one answered the door because the mail carrier never came to the door (doorbell camera confirms). I am currently waiting for a package that has been sent to every post office on the island except for the one it needs to go to. I’ll use USPS as little as possible from now on. Update 2021: this post office continues to be the worst. They throw packages onto our front porch like they’re playing cornhole, possibly damaging fragile items."

"I was glad to see that I am not the only one who has had a terrible experience with this post office. Since we moved in last year there has been nothing but drama with them. First, our mailbox was too far from the curb. We hadn’t even moved in yet and our first priority was floors and a functioning bathroom, not the mailbox that had been in the same place for 20 years before us. We got a lot of nasty notes. Then there was a slew of other reasons, snow, leaves, plants near the mailbox and so on. All ridiculous, our mailbox had all the same conditions as or neighbors, who got mail. I went to pick up my mail and two workers proceeded to berate me before giving me my mail. It’s been ok for a few months but now they are no longer delivering my mail again. I have filed formal complaints and it is a shame that nothing has been done."

"Staff at the office location are super helpful but the delivery person recently stopped leaving packages at my house due to a 'dog next door that is always out.' I have honestly never seen the dog, and it has never been around my house in the two plus years I have lived there. Additionally their hours are not conducive for me to pick up my package during the day and the location is very far out of my way for work creating a large delay on me getting my item. Don't know why this is happening now, UPS and FedEx don't have any problem delivering packages. Guess I'm switching to using Amazon locker and avoiding USPS at all costs."
