"Maybe it "Was" a park but it isn't anymore"
"Not a park at all. It’s just an open space. Do not go here. You will be disappointed"
"Park in name, but looks are deceiving. Shore access is past the trees, via an steep, unmarked trail which leads you to wonder if you're trespassing or not. I don't think you are, unless you walk over to the dock or try to exit that way (that much is private property for sure). If you dig a bit deeper, you can find Tottenville Shore Park isn't exactly a park, but a nature preserve that collects trash from the nearby streets in the area. It's a bluebelt. NYC OpenData does not list its boundaries as a park either, so the naming is probably an oversight or a vision never realized. Regardless, I've been here and can tell you... it's not much to look at. It’s a green patch of land and, if you go down the hill, a shore and hideaway drinking spot. Cool place to explore by accident, or if you want to be a weirdo and explore Tottenville for your New York vacation, but definitely not a family-oriented park."
"It's just trees and land there. Nice though, but better then a house."
"The bare minimum of a Park. It's really just a bunch of trees and man-made paths that lead to the shore where it's enveloped with little broken shells and some glass bottle shards."
