"I visited the office at 88 3rd Ave in Brooklyn yesterday. The supposedly supervisor was rude and very insensitive to other ethnic groups and senior citizens. The security guards appeared afraid of him. He was talking down to anyone who did not have an American accent and anyone who was female and a senior citizen. How did he get this job ? He needs diversity training."
"I visited IDNYC march 11, and upon entering to leaving I have no complaint. Even the security guard was very pleasant, very helpful and very polite. The service was fast and i was in and out in 20 minutes. I senses no racism. Appreciate your service guys."
"Pure Incompetence is the most professional way that I can describe this center. My wife and I had appointments today at 1020am to apply for our NYCID. We were not seen until 1140 am! From the time that we arrived for our appointment, which was 15 minutes prior, we saw between 20-25 people enter the office after us. They were ALL served BEFORE us! we were the last to be seen. I questioned someone who appeared to be a supervisor three times, and he stated that because we were active military, our application had to be vetted more than those who were not! Basically stated because I am a citizen and serve my country, that we were subjected to MORE scrutiny under NY mandate. How does this even make sense? When I questioned the gentleman more, he said that he did not understand the system, just entered data...so you now have state employees who do not even understand the systems they are using... As one of the very few white families in this office I truly feel that we were just the victims of racism on behalf on this NY state office. I cringe to think this or write this down, but I do not see any other explanation for this when others who had appointments well after ours were seen and processed at least 30 minutes before us. I write this in hopes that it will be seen by someone in the NY government who is competent and can address this for future customers so that ALL are treated equal."
"Horrible place. Completely unhelpful. I had my paystub and a backup document which showed my address but apparently it's not accepted because 1, the zip code was different than their systems and 2 despite it being an official letter from the jurors office, it can't be accepted because it's not an appearance letter. Then, despite one person saying I can find an online bank statement with the right address and show it to them, they tell me after I found it that they can't accept it because I need to print that out. So why couldn't they have told me that before I wasted an hour of my time waiting?!"
"I am writing a negative review on this because of the racism I experienced and horrible staff! I went with my grandparents to apply for their ID. The woman who works at the front is a Russian woman with long blond hair who has the nastiest attitude. (By the way, I went there months ago to apply for my own ID, and she smirked "I can't believe you don't know what you're doing"... Wow ok.) My grandfather just came from another country and he didn't have proof of address, so the woman said "ok bring the marriage certificate to prove that they live together". I said "ok". We got the papers and came back. She said "we can't accept this because this is a copy of the marriage license". I said "The original license is in another language and we went to an office to get it translated and it has a notary stamp. The office said it is a legal document and can be used in New York." She outright said "I don't care if you're from Mars and if your original document is in Chinese, Filipino, Spanish or whatever, yeah I see a notary stamp and this stamp and this one blah blah blah, we need the original document." Her and her co-worker started sharing jokes and laughing about my "stupidity". After hearing that racist tone, I began to leave. This was where I experienced even more negativity. I was waiting for my grandparents to walk out and a security guard there told me "you have to sit down". I told her I was leaving and that my grandparents were walking slow because they are elderly, and she said "I don't care, you need to sit down". I told her "don't speak to me like that" and she said "you need to learn how to speak to people". I told her back "excuse me..? You are the one picking a fight with me". And she yelled at me and threatened to call security... She then proceeded to following me all the way out to my car and she kept looking at my car that I feared our safety! This is no way to treat people, but don't worry I filed a complaint to 311 and they opened a case. I highly recommend to get your ID ELSEWHERE. There are other sites with nicer, more professional and non-racist staff members."
