"The Rahway War Memorial consists of a number of installations set in a forested park, initially dedicated to casualties of the first and second world wars. Of interest is how the installations reflect the time in which they were erected, with the panels of the Broken Hearts Memorial dedicated not only to those service men and women who died in Iraq, but also their parents and families. On each broken red heart the word 'mom' is painted; a very poignant memorial that captures the grief of those left behind."
