"The male park employees are cool; they keep busy, clean up the area, and leave people alone. Many female park employees here are on a total power trip, and yet they don’t seem to do anything productive. After dark all spring & summer, drunks and teenagers destroy the Parade Ground, leaving broken glass, bottle caps, trash, food scraps. After the kids’ sports teams leave all weekend, there’s trash everywhere. People literally dump trash out of their cars onto the sidewalk next to the Parade Ground, that’s how little they respect the neighborhood. There are not enough trash cans, but also the only motivation that the female park employees seem to have is to bark orders at people based on some arbitrary set of rules that are neither posted nor enforceable. Your adult dog sitting on a bench on a quiet weekday? Not OK. Wild kid popping wheelies on a moped on the astroturf on a very crowded summer afternoon? No problem! It’s a total double standard: some people are left to do whatever they want, while others are targeted. The workout area is usually pretty orderly, and the playground is big, but it is as much a human toilet as one for dogs with lazy owners, and in every other way, it’s not a pleasant place to hang out or live near."
"Was passing through on my scooter coming from work and wanted a change of scenery. The park is a go to for the spring and summer. Lots of activity to choose from and great scenery to help you get your dose of nature. People are pleasant as well. Always a welcome destination. Make the trip when you have the chance."
"Holy moly, what a park! I think I counted three waterfalls? And they have free concerts in the summer. It's the last natural forest in Brooklyn so you're actually in nature not just some astroturf (unless you're at the Parade Grounds soccer fields) all in all is awesome and before I forget all the great photos you'll take!"
"The springtime is gorgeous. Most of the trees are turning green and we still get some beautiful splashes of color here and there"
"The turf is falling apart so I took off one star. And some of the park seems to be a labyrinth hard to find entrance ways. Other than that my family has fun great place to work out. There is always space"
