"Duryea was "that" Community Church, my Mother and family were members and we participated in Cotillions and events that united us all!"
"It is the church that had so many wonderful people come and go. The basement had so many events. There have been great community meetings held there. I'm not sure who the pastor is now but I went in the late 70"s and the entire 80's as a consistent member. From Sunday School to being the young adult who became an acolyte. Was still able to use the basement for a repass for our neighborhood barber who passed away. I also had my father and brother repass there and I used to hold a few block Association meetings there as well. I hope they never tear this down for gentrification."
