About the Business
Ebbets Field Home Plate Marker
Located at 69 Sullivan Place in Brooklyn, New York, the Ebbets Field Home Plate Marker offers a rare glimpse into the rich history of the Brooklyn Dodgers. This historical site marks the original location of the home plate at Ebbets Field, the legendary baseball stadium that was home to the Dodgers from 1913 to 1957. The plaque, shaped like a home plate, commemorates this iconic spot where Jackie Robinson famously broke Major League Baseball's color barrier on April 5, 1947.
Nestled within a parking lot in the Ebbets Field Apartments complex, the marker is an enduring tribute to the Dodgers' legacy in Brooklyn. Visitors can also discover a second historical marker, a cornerstone inscribed with "This is the former site of Ebbets Field," which is discreetly located behind a bush under the building’s address number. This site serves as a poignant reminder of the storied past of the Dodgers, who were once known as the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers—a nod to the borough's bustling trolley system.
Across the street, you’ll find the P.S. 375 Jackie Robinson School and the Jackie Robinson Playground, further celebrating the groundbreaking achievements of the legendary player. Additionally, a piece of Ebbets Field history stands at Barclays Center—a flagpole from the original stadium's center field.
Although Ebbets Field was demolished in 1960, its memory lives on through these markers and the stories they tell. Whether you're a baseball enthusiast, a history buff, or simply curious, the Ebbets Field Home Plate Marker is a must-visit site that captures the spirit of Brooklyn's baseball heritage.

Reviews
"Amazing experience, every baseball geek needs to go here, you are witnessing a piece of not only baseball history but also American history!"
"Ebbets Field was a Major League Baseball park located in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York, on a city block which is now considered to be part of the Crown Heights neighborhood. It was the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers of the National League. The Dodgers moved to Los Angeles, California, after the 1957 season, while their long-time crosstown rivals the New York Giants moved to San Francisco. That meant lights out for Ebbets Field, which was demolished, beginning on February 23, 1960. The site is now occupied by the Ebbets Field Apartments."
"Interesting place to visit. Felt a bit strange as there were some locals sitting right there by a door socializing. Worth visiting once if you're a baseball fan. Visited here and then headed up to the Polo Grounds (similar experience)."
"So underwhelming for such a historic place. Enter from Sullivan place. Look for awning that says 69 Sullivan pl. right next to that awning is one that says “maintenance” and home plate is right in front of that"
"Home plate is a little hard to find, you might have to ask around when you get there. It’s basically in the inside corner of the building. Imagine the letter L and head to the inside corner of it from the South facing parking lot."
