About the Business
Welcome to Bais Levi Yitzchak Shul, a vibrant and welcoming synagogue located at 556 Crown Street, Brooklyn, New York. As a cherished place of worship, we are dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, community connection, and the rich traditions of Jewish life.
At Bais Levi Yitzchak Shul, we celebrate the meaningful moments of our faith. One such occasion is Shabbos Nachamu, the Shabbat following Tisha B'Av, known as the "Shabbat of Consolation." This marks the beginning of "The Seven of Consolation," a series of readings leading up to Rosh Hashanah, offering comfort and hope.
Our synagogue is named in honor of Reb Levi Yitzchak, the father of the Rebbe, who was a devoted leader in preserving Jewish life under challenging circumstances in the Soviet Union. This year, we commemorate the 80th Yahrzeit of Reb Levi Yitzchak, reflecting on his enduring legacy and spiritual contributions.
Join us in honoring these significant moments with heartfelt gatherings and Farbrengens. We invite you to participate in Torah learning, prayer, and acts of Tzedakah, as inspired by the Rebbe's teachings. In particular, contributing to Tzedakah in memory of Reb Levi Yitzchak is met with blessings "with His full, open, generous hand and many times over."
Our community is enriched by the joyous celebrations of our members, such as the wedding anniversaries and birthdays that bring us together in joy and gratitude. We extend Mazal Tov wishes to Mr. & Mrs. Baruch and Chana Bongart, Rabbi Chaim Ezra Tzfasman, and Mr. & Mrs. Ephraim Bander, among others.
For those wishing to connect spiritually with Reb Levi Yitzchak, Rabbi Mendel Lerman and Ephraim Bander will be traveling to his resting place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. You are welcome to send notes or letters to be brought to this sacred site.
We look forward to welcoming you to Bais Levi Yitzchak Shul, where tradition and community thrive together. May your involvement bring you blessings and joy, and may we all continue to grow in faith and connection.
